When do you think the results will start being reported on TV?

Yes, polls close at 6PM EST in the half of state that is in eastern, 7PM EST in the half of the state that is in central.

But they won't release results until all the polls close.

They usually start releasing the results as the polls close. We will most likely hear from Eastern Kentucky a little after 6p.m. eastern.

Will Eastern KY not be allowed to report results until 7:00? Is that what you were trying to say, Jordan?

I would not miss class jsut to hear the official talking heads officially announce Rand Paul won. And I expect the large margin will be a topic of discussion all night and probably for days.

^^^this. each precinct reports its votes (on the door) as soon as the polls close. (6:00pm). These numbers are called into the courthouse and tallied publicly as the numbers come in. It is certainly possible to know results in the 3/4's of the state before 7:00. (Louisville, Lexington, greater Cinci area, all of Eastern KY are on Eastern Standard Time.)
