I'm broadly libertarian, but my positions on abortion, border security, and national language often lead me to identify more as a conservative. Also, I'm more of a moderate libertarian, especially at more local levels of government, than a purist, so that's another reason I use "conservative" more often.

However, my namesake on these forums is the way I like to best describe myself. :)

No Labels Needed

None. Political parties and labels have turned our system of government into competing sports teams. Red vs Blue, Conservative vs Liberal, Religious Zealots vs religious non-zealots...these are the games we've lined up to play for far too long. Take a look around the country and see where it's gotten us.

Watching Michigan vs Ohio State is fun, but that's not the way I want my government to be run. Seriously, we've let our political system become a circus. The only way to put the country back on track is to return to an intellectual interaction with our would-be leaders. We lose every time we line up to cheer for the team and that's why I slap no label on my forehead. It's also why I hope that the rest of you can and will resist the urge to do so.

I'd say im more conservative, but I'm also libertarian.

I'm for freedom, but also tend to be conservative on gay marriage, abortion, border security, and immigration.

That's a typical left vs. right list of ideologies. How about some more choices? Like maybe anarcho-capitalist, Libertarian, libertarian, etc.

Labels are meaningless. For instance, there's no real difference between Dems & Rep politicians - they're all bought off by the same corporations... well, almost all of them. ;)

I used to consider myself moderate, but I think that's just because I didn't realize I was really more of a libertarian. Although I don't actually call myself anything. Now I try to look at things without seeing the labels.
