Peter Schiff nearly has $2M in the bank from fundraising alone and yet he is a relative unknown in the Republican primary. Rand Paul has about the same amount of money and is looking like the favorite in Kentucky.

What has he been doing with his time and money?? Blumenthal is more known than he is and that shouldnt be.

Is Peter Schiff "in it to win it?"

He has the money. He is given a soap box on the financial cable news network channels. He should have the support of the Tea Party. He predicted the economic collapse. He is a best-selling author.

What is he doing??? How is he not at least competing in the polls?

He has been hitting up all the RTC's. He was at 9% right before he started advertising. He did a two week radio blitz, and now is saturating the TV with commercials up until the convention.

His primary is further away than Rand's. He's blowin up tho, I tell ya.. we need to try and hit that goal for April and get him to 2.5m so he'll match our May 1 money bomb total.

But ya he just challenged Alan Greenspan to a sparring today

Peter Schiff has money.

He needs name recognition. He needs people to get out there and hustle and put his face in front of Connecticut voters.

I just emailed the campaign a while ago and said I need downloadable literature I can send via good old fashioned US snail mail.

The answer to the OP can be found in the Schiff forum threads. There is abundant information of everything he is doing. I will not answer him, because he is making things up. He asks "How is he not at least competing in the polls?" after a recent poll showed that Schiff more than doubled his support.

It is a different kind of campaign because of the convention. He is hitting up the most active republicans at the town commitees, the guys who are going to be at the convention. But it is not going to make his poll numbers explode. If it were a straight primary I might be worried. But his poll numbers are going up slowly. A different election structure needs a different strategy.

Very interesting. When is the primary in CT?

I had no idea that the primary in CT was so different from other states, I just assumed it was like any other.

2 million dollars isn't SHIT in connecticut...

linda mcnasty has over 50 mil in the war chest

just because rand can do alot in kentucky with with 2 mil doesnt mean schiff can get as much.

connecticut is a more expensive market
his opponents have more money than those in most other states
different primary structure

I agree. There hasn't been a poll since he started the ad blitz, and at that point he was practically breaking double digits. I think we're going to see a significant jump in the polls when the next one breaks.

Schiff has plenty of money to do what needs to be done. And he's doing it. One solid tv ad in the hopper, numerous radio ads, and more tv on the way. We have yet to see a poll since he started with the media blitz, and I have a feeling when it breaks we're going to see Schiff in a pre-Beck Medina position (McMahon drawing upper 40's, Simmons in the 30's, and Schiff firmly in the 20's).

I put the primary in the Calendar on top ^^^. It is August 10.

Also consider what at tiny state CT is... it's just a matter of reaching a certain # of people.

Blumenthal has won statewide office in Connecticut. That is a win for name req... so no, his name req should not be higher than Peter.

This is all revolving around the primary, but connecticut in general is a left leaning state, I grew up in CT, schiffs got a great shot, but it's not gonna be a grassroots like Rand Paul who's running in a state which very open to the message of liberty.

If you don't get 15% at the convention I think you have to get signatures for the primary. Not really sure. And if one person gets 85% I think there might not even be a primary. But others know better than me. It is something like that though. He doesn't have to win the convention, but if he can get a real good showing it could do wonders for the campaign.

The Convention is May 21st and the Primary is August 10th

If one candidate receives 85% at the convention (very unlikely), there is no primary.

A candidate must receive 15% at the convention to avoid collecting signatures to be in primary.
