If your 15 year old daughters do not text back and forth with 40+ year old politicians, then I'm not sure why you would be worried about someone like Anthony Weiner.

Bit late don't you think ? Now I'm not a Jesus person, although people sometimes call me that because of my physical appearance but I do believe strongly in good morality and respecting other people. I definitely subscribe to the golden rule.

Definitely. And even though I agree with Dannno that it's quite harsh for the totality of it, I must say I have not researched the average sentence, I definitely think that lawmakers should be the ones giving the good example.

Around here, you get double the punishment if you assault emergency workers. On the other hand, emergency workers, mostly police, generally get the benefit of the doubt when they assault someone. Now I think in principle every person should be the same, but if we do this right, then indeed, we should show no mercy in sentencing those who make the laws.

P.S. Not that I care, but I didn't even know he was convicted.

You might think you are right, and 6 years ago I would have agreed with you.

But you are completely wrong. At 15 a teen is getting out into the world and the Anthony weeners and crew are out there looking for some young and vulnerable girls they can take advantage of. Suck them in and make them feel important or popular. A 15 year old might not respond to a random message from any adult, but a politician or other "important" person might be a different story. I imagine it starts out sounding like a legitimate reason for communication, then turns flirty as he tries to seduce her. Fucking manipulation experts.
