This was posted a week or so ago, but gained lackluster interest and barely any discussion. This looks like a great group of people set on making a great film that could potentially wake up a big group of misinformed and apathetic Americans. Here is the trailer if you haven't seen it.

The film makers have posted a kickstarter project http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wtpmovie/we-the-people-0?ref=live , which if it could gain some steam and heavy promotion or clever grassroots marketing, I think could be a success. The film maker said on FB they are very dedicated and will be making the movie regardless of whether they reach their kickstarter goal, but imagine how awesome that would be if it even gained a small limited theatrical release and got a huge boost to their budget.

This film and project looks promising to me, what do you guys think? Let's promote, I think the effort is worth it and I can't think of any other one single project right now that has the potential to spread more economic truth to a wider audience.

They are asking for $180k and said they wouldn't do the project if they didn't get it in 30ish days. This was a week or 2 ago, they had raised $1600. They now have $2400. Now you say they will make the movie with or without the money? What else aren't they telling their investors?

I asked the question of what happens if they make the movie, sucessfully pay the bills and provide payment for their time in the project. They said there was no intention to pay back the investors. My question is what do they need $180k for? I hired our local PBS to film an educational film for my wifes buisiness. It cost $1500/day for 2 highly profesional cammera men and sound guy. The film is in HD format. We built a well over the top of the line computer for editing and purchased top of the line editing software. $2k.

I completley understand they're trying to make something for theatrical release which would bump up the costs quite a bit from what we do. (Keep in mind we'll sell 1000s of copies of the DVD we're putting out.) So its not some Kindergarden project nor is it Hollywood piece, but I can't see how they could reach $180k for a documentary style video. No special effects, no CGI, no hardcore lighting or sound crew needed. I just don't get where the cost is coming from unless its all in advertising?

Keep in mind I love the trailer and think the idea has legs. But I'd "invest" my money in somethign that has legs to it. Remember a month ago some profesional crew was releasing a Ron Paul youtube video? They wanted like 1M views in a couple days? It was good tube but nothing near what would be required for the mainstream. What makes anyone think they guys have the connetions to get the interviews they need and the pipeline to get it to the higher ups in the post production phase?

Sorry, I'm not trying to be a negative nancy!!!
