We need to raise the social media profile of state liberty leaders

A thread which brought up State Rep. Paul Curtman of Missouri got me thinking...how is it such a bright, elected leader of the liberty movement only has 2,500 Facebook likes? Well, the answer is because he is a "lowly" state representative. But we can change that. If we work together, we can elevate the presence of him and other liberty leaders on the state level throughout the country. Another example is State Rep. Charles Gregory of Georgia. He only has 370 Facebook likes. You probably know of examples in other states.

We need to come up with ideas on how to increase these guys (and gals) Facebook profiles, as well as Twitters if they have them.

For now, here are the Facebook pages of Curtman and Gregory.

Feel free to post other State Reps and Senators, and give some input on how we can help them out. I know some of you are admins of large Facebook pages. Perhaps the forum could showcase these folks as well.

Take your pick: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endors...n_Party_presidential_primaries,_2012#Ron_Paul

We need more women in the liberty movement, so how about Leah Cole? Of course I'm slightly biased :)

Definitely. Did she win? I checked her Facebook page last night and she still listed herself as a candidate.

I believe Cole mentioned on either her State Rep or actual Facebook page that she cannot change the title of the page.

Also, a lot of social media presence falls on the individual themselves. Think about both Rand Paul and Wendy Davis' filibusters and how their Facebook profiles just exploded overnight. Not saying everyone has to have this epic, ten plus hour filibuster, but it helps if they do or say something that draws people to them. That or, if they're voting members, do what Amash does and post each of their votes in addition to their reasoning.

Something I forgot to mention: After a certain threshold of Facebook likes it becomes self sustaining as people share things and see the page show up in their news feed. If some of these pages can get a few thousand, we will have done our job.

We have people who are running facebook pages and twitter accounts with tens of thousands of followers, those are the people who need to be sharing stuff and getting the social media power involved.

I am working on it. I have a good plan to get these people exposure before the primaries and general next year, but my big push is going to be 2016.
