Washington Examiner claims Cruz rollout better than Pauls

Cruz had a better rollout? Is that why the national media was talking about the students with the Rand shirts for days?

Ed Rollins is an establishment hack. Appears on Fox regularly.

Cruz did more than twice as much google traffic as Rand on his announcement day if you look at google trends and it would appear he is crushing us in fundraising if the reports can be believed. Maybe that's a product of the electorate more than the rollout, but I think Rollins has a point regardless of how much I disliked him.

I know you've seen him...

Permanent consultant. Consultant Industrial Complex.

Probably got miffed cause Rand didn't hire him. Just a dog looking for his next bone.

I thought that a lot of Cruz's google traffic was just people inquiring about his country of birth?

Nobody knows how much money Cruz raised. Many folks believe he raised $31 million, but that is the PAC and that number can't be verified either. I don't see his campaign raising more than Rand, but who knows.

Does anyone know the names of the PAC's behind Rand? The only one I can think of is human action.

Rand had an outstanding speech and it was a great rollout. The conventional wisdom is definitely wrong about how he handled the media. This week was a homerun.

Cruz also knocked it out of the park though. I have no idea how he raised $31 million. That is a staggering number. I would like to know how much his wife's connections contributed to that and also if there were some pro-Israel hawks who contributed and see it as a way to kneecap Rand.

I'm not talking about the 31 million. They reported his campaign raised 1 million in 24 hours, 3 million in four days, and 4 million in eight days.

We are still doing well and like I said it might say a lot more about the electorate and the demographics (young people have less money) but based on some objective criteria it's fair to make the argument that Cruz' roll out is going better.

Ted didn't raise 31 million. An amalgamation of all the Super PACs they support Ted Cruz claim to have raised that much. As they can take unlimited donations, it's obviously a few very rich people and yes it's likely to harm Rand. I forget the guy's name who is bankrolling him, but it's starting to come out in the press. Furthermore, they have declined on record releasing the donor's name until mid-July when they are required to do so. They wouldn't do this if it was a lot of small donors.

Publicity Wise? Rand in a runaway. Donation wise? Easily Cruz thus far.

Sen. Ted Cruz's presidential campaign had a goal after it officially launched Monday: raise $1 million in a week...
The Texas Republican's campaign says it met its fundraising goal at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday -- just a little more than 24 hours after he announced via Twitter that he would be running for president. Cruz made a formal announcement Monday morning at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.
As of Thursday night the campaign has raised $2 million, about $500,000 of which came from large-money bundlers. The rest came from online donations.

Can we stop with the "Cruz raised more money than Rand". These numbers were according to the Cruz campaign, not verifiable:
-$1million (did not say whether online or otherwise) in just under 26.5 hours.
-$1.5million in four days from online donations.

Cruz has had a better rollout in terms of donations, but it's clearly obvious he's playing it safe with his platform and rhetoric. Safe won't win the primary nor the general election. Rand turned the knob up to 11 at the start and this will pay great dividends in the end. Who is everyone talking about? Rand Paul. There is your answer.

Well Cruz' campaign claims here that 95% of the donations have been under $100 which directly contradicts the big money bundling claim of $500,000 as part of the 2 million. So something doesn't add up.

But until I see numbers that say otherwise, everything shows that Cruz did raise more than Rand.

24 hours: Cruz- ~1 million > Paul ~750k
4 days: Cruz ~2 million > Paul ~1.52 million
8 days: Cruz ~4 million, Paul ?

There is no way that we hit 4 million through day 8 unless something major happens. At our current rate, we will hit 2 million then. Hopefully you are correct that when big bundlers are added in we are least on equal footing. I somehow doubt it but we shall see.

I'm referring to the presidential campaign. Not the super PAC. No way Rand will raise 4 million by day 8
