The difference between Mitt Romney and Ron Paul is only 194 votes! If enough people can be turned out in droves in that county by suggested tactics such as inviting people out to a good dinner or for drinks afterwards, this could possibly turn into a win!

Remember the huge Ron Paul win at the evening precinct in Las Vegas?

Caucus Date, Time, and Location:

Washington County Caucus: Feb 18, 1:30pm at Washington Academy in East Machias

Idea for actually turning out massive numbers!

Organize two after caucus parties that are only open to those who caucus with RP grassroots, one for college students and a big generic barbecue with beer for everybody else.

Is this correct as stated on the CNN results page for Maine "independents and unregistered voters can register as Republicans on caucus day." ?

If so, it seems doable to me. It's not like you can only round up established Republican voters.

Exactly. Any US citizen with a Maine id who lives in the county is eligible for the most part.

Definitely would be worth targeting the remaining 98 precincts. If we can get great turnout he could have a turnaround win announced at a later day like Santorum did in Iowa.

So what, Mitt got his big announcement on live TV and all the momentum. The state GOP played their hand perfectly.

Total vote for Washington County in 08 was 113.

We REALLY have to turn out some vote to gain 196 votes.

In Maine any adult US citizen with a Maine id can register at the door for the most part. It is a matter of perhaps setting up a very attractive "after caucus party" open only to those who attend. Perhaps one for any college students and a different gathering or barbecue with beer for everybody else.

There are 98 precincts left?

Am I correct in reading that date? If so, the final Maine caucus isn't for another week yet.

That's a whole week to phone bank, inform the blogosphere, do the groundwork, and take Maine by storm! We can do this! C'mon guys...lemme hear your war cry!

Rawn PAAAAAAAAWWWLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
