Submit Your Writing for Showcasing in AFF's Magazine or Blog.
Get Published with AFF!

Do you want your work published and your name exposed to a wider audience? Do you want to practice writing about public policy, culture, or the arts? Whether it's about music, government regulations, education, or your area of expertise, you are invited to submit short pitches (2-3 paragraphs) to Doublethink editor Joel Gehrke that propose topical, unique, and controversial pieces of interest to young professionals. Many articles are selected for honorarium.

As you know, Doublethink magazine is AFF's signature publication. This year, it published more than 120 feature articles including original reporting and research, sharp thinking, and insightful and witty analysis. Articles focusing on life outside the Beltway and internationally are welcome along with DC "insider" pieces. Anyone may submit, although we prefer young writers looking to practice and get more exposure.

Short pitches are preferable, but feel free to send completed pieces, along with short summaries. No need to have previous writing credits, but if you do, it doesn’t hurt to mention them, or even send clips. Published writers may receive a small honorarium. Submissions can be sent to Joel Gehrke at [email protected]. More information on submission can be found here.

Shorter pieces about professional development, liberty movement trends, and policy can be submitted for consideration in AFF's "Free the Future" blog. Please send your ideas to Heather Curry at [email protected].

Doublethink Writers and Editors Powerfully Influence the National Conversation
David Brooks wrote in the New York Times that the national conversation has been "powerfully influenced" by several writers who were published in or editors of Doublethink! You can join the likes of Tim Carney, Reihan Salam, Conor Friedersdorf, and Ramesh Ponnuru. Will you join that list by publishing your work in Doublethink?

This particular AFF seems to be the America's Future Foundation. Just in case some were unsure if that was the Austin Film Festival, the Asian Financial Forum, Adult Friend Finder, or whatever...
