He is on a different show now. For those not paying attention he took over Late Show w/David Letterman. Colbert ditched the fake conservative schtick and is as liberal as they come now.

I think he has said he is independent with progressive leanings?

Rand generally holds common sense viewpoints and has the ability to attract independents and fringe-liberals, so I would expect a fair interview.

Colbert is not a partisan liberal. He's actually a pretty decent and intelligent guy. He had Cruz on his show and when the crowd booed him for something he said, Colbert interrupted their booing and told them to respect his guest. This should be a very good interview.

Pretty much. The only way this will move the needle at all is if it makes headlines. Colbert's ratings have been slagging and I really doubt any Republican Iowa caucus goers watch Colbert.

Rand SHOULD bring some simple eye surgical equipment on stage as prop behind the seat . . .
He can offer a pro bono eye extraction if (when) Colbert gets too feisty -lol

Rand should definitely have something in his arsenal that points out how Colbert wears glasses and that he is an optometrist and he can correct his vision to see more liberty.

Rand as an opthamologist surgeon may need to take cataracts or something out of Colbert's eyes to see liberty clearer . . . fat Christie floaters clogging things up ?

. . . and Rand could meet the audience waiting out on the street - sign some books, T-shirts, autographs

I honestly think Colbert truly believes in liberty, but cares more about money. He's shown signs in the past of supporting Ron Paul. I think a lot of the stances he takes is because he's forced to appear to take them in order to stay on the air. Being with a group of people who obviously dont like Ron and saying this, he earned some points in my book.
