[Video] Rand Paul on The Daily Show w/ Jon Stewart 5/26/15

Pretty darn genius to have your new book media tour start the same week as the patriot act is near tapped out.

Waiting for reactions from people who don't normally watch The Daily Show but tune into this one to have a fit that the interview wasn't long enough or should have taken up the entire episode.

Except that regular viewers know that some guests are given less time than others.

Stewart usually does a long interview with people he finds interesting. It has to be cut down to fit the broadcast slot, but if it's a long interview, the uncut version is put up on the Daily Show website. I'd imagine that's what he'll do today. He's done that for Rand before, I believe, and I know he did it when he interviewed Ron.

That depends on the guest. Jon Stewart already had been going after Jim Cramer for quite some time, so it makes sense that the interview would be longer and extensive than the average guest, for example. And it depends on the running time of the previous two segments as well.

Stewart gave Ron airtime.

Then Ron's popularity became a threat to the machine, didn't see him much on Comedy Central after that.

If that's your idea of a fun way to spend an afternoon, sitting around waiting for someone to do something you consider stupid so you can be snarky, then I guess who am I to argue...?

Just glad my own life has a little more meaning than that.

That's why I always watch on their website where they play the entire extended interviews. I think a lot of it depends on whether or not there is a lot to talk about with the guest, and my best guess in this scenario is that the ball is in Rand court on what he wants to bring to this audience. He is very strict on specific messages when it comes to media.

Sometimes he catches people caught off guard and they forget they are being interviewed and makes some of the best TV.

Stewart has given Ron Paul fair air time. This is something even Ron Paul himself has said. He even pointed out the media bias against Ron Paul. The only reason people around here don't like Stewart is because they consider him a liberal and according to them ALL LIBERALS are pure evil. Even the ones that have been fair to Ron Paul.

I'm glad you took my comment seriously. Apparently everyone else is a bit smarter than that.

The Judge got a long interview, too.

Just because you say it over and over again louder and louder isn't going to make it true. We are not going to cowtow to your group think just because you want to spew anti liberal hate into every thread doesn't mean that's what everyone here thinks.

The worst part about the Daily Show is some of the progressive writers, not Jon Stewart. Sometimes I get the feeling he is just reading what's on the card.

lol, I think you misread their comment?

Yeah you can tell when he is on script and off script and when he doesn't agree with it by his tone. I really didn't know how to phrase that but I wanted to say the same thing.

LOL no that was a calculated response to his garbage comment, we have been attracting more liberal people into our forum with our anti patriot act stances and I think we need everyone to vote for Rand Paul if we want him to win. I don't don't pretend to know the intentions of others but I know personally several liberals that would vote for Rand Paul right now. If we bash people based on their subscribed tribe then they get defensive immediately it turns them off. I want to shut that shit down everywhere I can.

Yep you caught me, I voted for Obama burn me at the stake. I guess I also campaigned for Ron Paul in 2012 too though, and did everything i could here locally in Nevada to get him where he needed to be.
