U.S. Trained ISIS at secret base in Jordan

Got a better source than WND? They say Obama was born in Kenya.

Jordan is concerned about the ISIS. They would not want to be supporting the group.

Ticking Time Bomb: Jordan's Islamists and the Rise of ISIS in the Hashemite Kingdom

Situated between viral conflicts in Syria and Iraq, Jordan's relative anonymity may be drawing to a close. A beacon of stability in the Middle East, the Hashemite Kingdom is perpetually challenged by the need to moderate between the monarchy's pro-Western orientation and the Islamist tendencies of the country's population. For decades the Muslim Brotherhood has remained the most prominent political rival of the Hashemite regime and its impact was significantly amplified in 2011-2013 by the organization's region-wide ascent following the uprisings of the Arab Spring. However, the deposition of the Muslim Brotherhood government in Egypt and suppression of the Brotherhood's pan-Islamic aspirations significantly diminished the organization's domestic influence. Now, al Qaeda-linked factions fighting in the Syrian civil war supply the most attractive brand of Islamist ideology for direct import into Jordan. As a result, the Kingdom faces immediate challenges from the country's nascent Salafist Jihadist Movement, and a long-term threat for the evolution of domestic Islamist militancy.

Americans are training Syria rebels in Jordan: Spiegel

BERLIN Sun Mar 10, 2013 3:48pm EDT

(Reuters) - Americans are training Syrian anti-government fighters in Jordan, the German weekly Der Spiegel said on Sunday, quoting what it said were participants and organizers.
Spiegel said it was not clear whether the Americans worked for private firms or were from the army but said some wore uniforms. The training focused on use of anti-tank weaponry.
Some 200 men have already received such training over the past three months and there are plans in the future to provide training for a total 1,200 members of the "Free Syrian Army" in two camps in the south and the east of the country.

Britain's Guardian newspaper also reported that U.S. trainers were assisting Syrian rebels in Jordan. British and French instructors were also participating in the U.S.-led effort, the Guardian said on Saturday, citing Jordanian security sources.
Jordanian intelligence services are involved in the program, which aims to build around a dozen units totaling some 10,000 fighters to the exclusion of radical Islamists, Spiegel reported.
"The Jordanian intelligence services want to prevent Salafists (radical Islamists) crossing from their own country into Syria and then returning later to stir up trouble in Jordan itself," one of the organizers told the paper.
The reports could not be independently verified.
A spokesman for the U.S. Defense Department declined immediate comment on the Spiegel report. The French foreign ministry and Britain's foreign and defense ministries also had no comment.
More than 70,000 people have been killed and 1 million refugees have fled the Syrian conflict.
It started as pro-democracy protests but has turned into a sectarian war between rebels mainly from Syria's Sunni Muslim majority and state forces defending President Bashar al Assad, who follows the Alawite faith derived from Shi'ite Islam.
The United States has said it would provide medical supplies and food directly to opposition fighters but has ruled out sending arms for fear they may find their way to Islamist hardliners who might then use them against Western targets.

A man, who was injured during a suicide bomber attack in Mwafaqiya village at Mosul, lies in a hospital bed after he was brought for treatment in a hospital in Arbil, the capital of the autonomous Kurdistan region, June 6, 2014.

Extremists fighters from the al-Qaeda offshoot Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) have captured the capital of northern Iraq, Liz Sly and Ahmed Ramadan of The Washington Post report.

American-trained Iraqi forces reportedly fled posts in Mosul, Iraq's second largest city, and all of the city's critical facilities — including the government complex and the prisons — are now controlled by the insurgents.

“When the battle got tough in the city of Mosul, the troops dropped their weapons and abandoned their posts, making it an easy prey for the terrorists,” Iraq’s speaker of parliament Osama Nujaifi stated in Baghdad.

Thanks for the link but that wasn't ISIS agents being trained in Jordan.

NP, but I'm not convinced that such operations can sort moderate car bombers from radical ones considering the violence used to take out Christians general and others in Syrian leadership by the "rebels". Unless you really believe that fighters being trained in Jordan did not think they were waging a "Jihad" in the name of their religion and were just out to kill for dollars/rayals?

You are assuming that all opposition groups are the same. Syrian opposition groups have been fighting each other in addition to fighting the Assad government. Some groups don't want anything to do with the more radical ones (who are actually the more effective fighters since they have been fighting all over the area including Iraq).

I'm not really assuming anything and just raised a speculative question.

But I also do not assume that we can feed the snakes and guarantee that they would always bite our enemies. We also can't believe every word that is published in press released news - which goes both ways in such a debate.

There is no honor among thieves.
All of these groups are Thugs and Mercenaries,, with there own particular axes to grind.

Libertarians would like to change their government too. All groups have their own goals.

Our leaders are pretty pathological in their hatred of Russia. Not mention the Saudis' incredible envy of the Syrian natural resources and potential pipeline deals. Destabilizing Syria was the prime motivation for this training without any concern for containment of these rebels.

Speaking of Syria, Jordan was the 'go between' where the CIA flew/drove/shipped their "prisoners" to Jordan, then the Jordanian secret "Dairat al-Mukhabarat al-Ammah aka GID" forwarded to Syria for what the Nazi Gestapo called , "Intensified Interrogation" but the terminology was changed to "Enhanced Interrogation" for the New American Century... aka Torture.

ISIS was trained everywhere that the US was training.
They were trained in Iraq,, They were trained in Libya They are trained Afghanistan..

Everywhere you see the US training "security Forces" they are training people that will use that training..

I would bet that the core leadership of ISIS was trained as Iraqi Security Forces.

The administration is conflicted on what they really want in Syria. Actually they want nobody to win. They don't like Assad and would not mind if he was gone but they don't want the more radical opposition in charge either even though they are the group with the best shot militarily of getting rid of Assad. Meanwhile the country is destroying itself.

Bullshit. Then why aren't they sending "humanitarian aid" to Assad's forces as well as the rebels?

Actions speak louder than words.

You are such a two-faced little snake.
