I will start by stating that I've not watched the interview because bosswife just got in and is asleep and I don't yet wish to die.
Proceeding, I find Musk odd. On the one hand, he's clearly intelligent and smart. On the other, I can recall him making some remarks that left me wondering what on earth is he really about.
For example, Tesla. Talk about scams, holy God... On the other hand, if people are stupid enough to buy into the steaming pile that is the electric car, and Musk used that scam to generate the tons of capital to finance Space-X, well then let the chips fall where they may.
I must, however, confess my wary suspicions of any and all former Democrats/lefties who claim to have seen a light and to have come to it. The basic mentality of such people speaks of deep damage brought on by God only knows what. The basic personality is one of the Unicorn Idealist who lives in a normative fantasy which can only be validly described as deeply psychotic. Or they are of the parasite class seeking to enrich themselves on the backs of others for any of a host of possible reasons, none of them good.
These are the sorts of people who move from California to Idaho, only to make every effort to turn their new home into the old once they get there. In other words, they cannot be trusted to the door. They may be idiots and/or moral corrupts, but somewhere deep in their brain stem rests the single epsilon of sense that tells them the need to move away from whatever opinions they hold for the sake of immediate survival. But in time they just cannot quite turn their backs to their once cherished world views, and are thereby prompted to revert to their old ways of thought and behavior precisely because their souls are rotted with corruption and raw, rank stupidity, greed, lassitude, etc. They want what they want, cannot ever quite accept that it represents just how low and reprehensible they are as living beings, and like the criminal who dodges a legal bullet and who behaves awhile in the aftermath, they inevitably revert to their old ways.
This is why I cannot bring myself to trust the likes of Musk, Gabbard. RFK, and so on. Get them into their comfort zone and the next thing you know they start nudging. When sworn philosophical enemies are suddenly saying they want to rock your willie, be at least suspicious.
