In the coal state of West Virginia, officials welcomed Monday's announcement by Environmental Protection Agency administrator Andrew Wheeler, who was a lobbyist for coal immediately before coming to the Trump EPA.

The tougher air standards called for by many scientists in and out of the federal government “could have been a huge blow to the coal industry,” Douglas Buffington, West Virginia’s senior deputy attorney general, told reporters.

Wheeler's decision leaves unchanged limits for what is broadly called “fine particulate matter” – the tiny bits of soot we breathe in unseen from tailpipes, wildfires, factory and power plant smokestacks, and other sources.

Trump has the unique ability to tell the hard truth sometimes.

Truth***

It is amazing how the Neocons got people on board with eliminating tariffs (NAFTA) even though those countries did not remove theirs. Then, as we lost 10's of millions of decent paying manufacturing jobs, they come up with climate change and draconian restrictions and regulations to kill what was left of manufacturing in this country as they encouraged 50 million Latinos to pour across the border and artificially manipulate (lower) the wages for Americans who still had jobs. To top it all off, they use the Chinese (who they sent our jobs to) to come into this country, buy up our land and attempt a regime change/coup during an election. Meanwhile the media (they own) labels anyone that speaks out against this as a Nazi wearing tin foil hats. 50 years from now, they will be discussing this in classrooms dedicated to "How the NWO tried to take over the world"

I don't know how some libertarians advocate for open borders and fully optimized global trade. Maybe tariffs aren't the answer, but rather have tariffs than income taxes. The important things like food, energy, and other basics for survival should be made in our country. Otherwise we fall victim to the dictates of other countries and the US becomes very fragile. Decentralization is good for safety too because a disruption wouldn't affect everybody. Yeah it wouldn't be efficient, but survival is more important.

Libertarians that advocate for open borders and similar are attempting to universalize their philosophy into one suited for the entire species. It has nothing at all to do with whether the philosophy works for the species but rather a compulsive need to maintain their ideological purity. For them, failure to maintain purity creates a painful cognitive dissonance that they prefer to avoid no matter the cost. In service to this, they will fashion any argument necessary to assure themselves of the correctness of their belief and only then will the workability be considered.

Essentially, Libertarian purists care little for reality or history but care greatly about the world inside their head. On the other hand, individuals with libertarian tendencies are those that seek to reconcile their philosophical beliefs with what they know about the species it would apply to via their historical and contemporary knowledge. The discomfort of cognitive dissonance, for these folks, is not viewed to be as painful as the negative repercussions created by applying philosophical principles to situations they are ill suited for given the characteristics of humanity. Following this, they first consider whether something works before the applicability of the principle matters.

Despite the apparent similarity between the two groups and general consensus on numerous subjects, this is why the infighting is so intense and thoroughly useless. The priorities of each group are not really the same, because their assumed premises and purposes do not align. The first group views the second group as unprincipled, and the second group views the first group as unrealistic. Around and around it goes for eternity.

An Agorist recognizes their surroundings and weighs the "risk versus reward". Statists on both sides are threatened by us and will say anything to downplay/reject us.

As long as little bones are tossed in exchange for your unwavering support, continue licking the boot that steps on your neck. They need the revenue.

Nobody of consequence is threatened by Agorism for the same reason nobody is threatened by the existence of Libertarianism. Niche philosophies that lack widespread support among the population are downplayed/rejected due to their practical irrelevance and not because of any supposed threat posed by them. The reality is that most of humanity does not care about philosophy in the slightest.

Agorists do not get any kind of special credit for weighing risk and reward. It's a trait common to all of humanity.

I couldn't agree more with some of the brilliant comments made. While it would be awesome if we were just one planet full of human beings, "we are all in this together", we are not even close to achieving this and will not be for a very long time. It has taken 1000's of years to evolve to where we find ourselves today and will take a 1000 more to even get close to that goal. The only thing that will change this is if we were near extinction. Some cataclysmic event that completely and utterly destroys modern life as we know it. Even then, the rich and powerful will retreat to deep underground bunkers and have a greater chance of survival then the rest of us. That scenario is even worse since their survival means they would "lead" what is left of civilization in the same destructive path that got us there in the first place. Our entire history as a species is riddled with power hungry egotistical beings. Those that lead and those that follow. Those that conquer and those that are conquered. Those that lead see no problem with using force to do so even if it means eliminating those that refuse. Those who are passive will always be the victims. I prefer to live in the here and now and what is best for my children and their children. As I have grown older, I have realized more that nationalism and patriotism is not really such a bad thing when you consider the alternative of being taken over by a much more evil controlling power structure. Just look at Hing Kong for example. Rounding people up for re education camps. I can actually see that happening here now by extremists who have claimed they would love nothing more than to round us all up. It's the white mans fault. Look at what they are doing and saying now about Trump supporters. This election and the last has not only exposed people's true ideologies, it has proven that they will actually act upon their brainwashed beliefs. Burn it all down. We are in for some very troubling times. Will this all come to a head? Is it a transitioning period for life on earth? I fear that it is going to get much worse, not just in this country, but among all nations, between nations. Everyone is going to have to pick a side soon whether they think so or not. The stage has been set and there is no turning back.
