The problem isn't that the American people are stupid, it's that they're afraid of another terrorist attack. And ever since Bush invaded Afghanistan and Iraq there have no longer been attacks on American soil. So then there's a post hoc fallacy occurring that if we fight them over there they can't get us here. People don't give a rats ass about how it happened they just want it to be stopped from happening, and from the looks of Bush's policy it has appeared that invasion has been successful. Has it? Well it's still to early to decide. The other Republicans seem more appealing because they want to continue the fight against Radical Islam, while Dr. Paul doesn't, meaning sending troops over. The solution is to simply get out and invoke a non-interventionist policy. But then here brews another potential post hoc fallacy, if we get out of the Middle East and all over the world, will we be truly safer. Can you 101% be sure that we will be safer. Because we were not safer on December 7, 1941, from our non-interventionist foreign policy. I know there'll be conspiracy theories and technicalities about December 7th, so yea. Dr. Paul probably doesn't seem appealing either since he always gives out an aura of isolationism to the average American. When people are scared they will do anything to protect themselves even if it means giving up certain liberties. Heck we do it everyday
"Each of us puts his person and all his power in common under the supreme direction of the general will; and in a body we receive each member as an indivisible part of the whole"~ Jean-Jacques Rousseau
Which means that we give up a few rights to be protected. For example: you give up the right to chew gum in order to prevent assholes from sticking them to desks, the ground, and chairs. I've had my share of bad experiences with assholes and gum. I'm sorry to say it though, Dr. Paul doesn't sound like a person, to most people, as someone who'll protect them PHYSICALLY (ie: keeping Terrorists out of America). People are in the mindset that if you have a powerful military around the world you'll be safe. Just look at the British Empire, they had soldiers and ships everywhere and not once did a foreign nation invade English soil. Dr. Paul provides for social freedom, civil freedom, and economic freedom. But people care more for security, you call it the road to fascism, which could indeed to in our future, but it's really Human Nature.
Oh yea, it doesn't hurt to
