Still feel that way after seeing him speak at SRLC? *I'm talking about DeMint's speech.

Before this speech, I thought that DeMint endorsing Ron was possible, but a tremendous longshot.
After hearing this speech, I believe that Ron getting an endorsement from DeMint is a BIG possibility.

After all, no one can deny that the country is much, much different than it was four years go. It's obvious that DeMint feels the same way, since he alluded to it by saying how he USED to think Ron Paul was crazy.

He had quite a few good things to say about Ron (nothing negative) and even more about Rand. I think this is good news.

Hes not endorsing Ron Paul. He's great and hes open to our ideas, but hes not one of us, and hes not going to endorse Ron Paul.

Just heard him praise Cain as well... I think he's in my camp of trying to bring these factions together.

It's just that I want to bring them together for Paul. I think he'll take whoeveer he can get.

He's going to endorse Bachmann.

You don't know that. I didn't say he WAS going to endorse Ron, but I said it's a big possibility now. Of course, it's also a big possibility he wont. I just think that as the country moves into the next year and the economy gets even worse, people who wouldn't normally move our way because they consider themselves "social conservatives" will be more inclined to push Ron Paul, ONLY if he can convince them that he is the leader to elect if the economy is of any concern.

This would be HUGE here in SC. Jim DeMint is actually somewhat popular, not up for reelection til 2016 and is actually popular with conservatives around here (unlikely Lindsey Graham). Perhaps I could start calling his office to let him know that endorsing Ron Paul would be a good idea.

With regards to him running for POTUS, I don't think that is likely, he has his hands full with the Boeing situation down here and I don't think the field can sustain too many more people. Abandoning SC on Boeing to run for POTUS would not go over well here. Leave it in the hands of Graham and we will have problems..

Not going to happen. He is just being nice. I'll eat my shirt if he does...up until 2010, all those congressman/senators were part of the problem...they are all in on it...

I can.

In fact, I think one of the things that distinguishes a lot of Ron Paul supporters from the typical Republican is that the typical Republican thinks everything was just fine until all of a sudden Obama got elected and undid everything that the 43 fine upstanding presidents who came before him had faithfully guarded, whereas most Ron Paul supporters see the problems with Obama as just another step in the same basic direction the government has been on for a very long time.

That said, your post is encouraging. If Demint endorsed RP, I'd be very happy.

Keep in mind that Jim Demint Endorsed Mitt Romney and supported his individual mandate in 2007:
