On Freedom Watch a few minutes ago, the Judge and Juan Williams were talking about the WaPo article about Ron/Mitt.

Juan chalked it up to Mitt wanting Ron's enthusiastic base and there was some minor chatter about the national convention.

Judge just had Jack Hunter on talking about the same thing, Jack said he's not aware of anything although in his words politics is a strange beast. Judge slipped in a quick wink at him at the end of the interview. LOVE IT!

lol, i dont think its possible,
but if Romney gives Paul the VP and allows him to phase out the Fed in four years after a full audit, then i wouldn't mind !

Not only is this possible, it's inevitable. Let's face it folks. Ron always makes a point about forming coalitions. To have long term success we have to do the same. It's no different then Jefferson and Hamilton both working for the colonist against the British. Newt is obviously someone you can't work with and Santorum is borderline delusional. That leaves Romney and the establishment. If the establishment wants to remain in existence they need to win, therefore, they need to bring us into the fold. If we want a long term presence, we need seats at the table. Even if Paul wins the primaries, look for them to seek compromise with the Romney camp in order to secure victory.

I don't know about this, the one thing that can be counted on from Romney and the establishment is that they are very good at co-opting the message of liberty and then flip-flopping on it after getting into office only go into the direct opposite direction. This concerns me, the enthusiasm that Ron Paul now enjoys could dry up pretty quickly if the grassroots see his credibility diminish by supporting an establishment candidate with a history Romney has and his stated views on a number of issues.

You state that Romney and the establishment is concerned with wanting to remain in existence, if the direction is headed in one where they maybe phased out over the long run why then would we want to do anything to help prop them up? Even if in the short run it may help us, in the long run it maybe more advantageous to let them die faster by not throwing them a life preserver.

That is just the facts.

After all, this IS "politics."

Regardless of whether this is true, one thing is for sure and that is that Ron Paul has us in mind. If he is making deals then I'm sure it's to help him win or for the American people.

It tells me that the establishment still considers Ron Paul a threat. I don't see Romney offering nor especially Ron Paul accepting a VP slot from him. That would completely fly in the face of everything he's done his entire political career.

This is just another unfounded piece of gossip to keep people from talking about the real issues that Paul is addressing during this process.

I for one don't hate Romney any more like I did in 07. He has come around a lot in giving my hero the respect that he deserves and has also given us a little respect. I don't see Romney as a bad guy or crooked, dishonest or a liar. I do still see him as a big government corporatist war mongerer though who also supports all the authoritarian police state measures that scare the crap out of me so I don't know if I could vote for him even if Ron Paul was his VP. In fact if Ron Paul ever accepted that position it might be the one thing that could cause me to lose respect for him after all these years of holding him up as a hero and the greatest statesman since this country was formed

Well all i know is that Unless Paul is the President that i will not vote for a ticket with Paul. He has to be president or my vote stays home.

This pretty much sums up what I think. Honestly I think even if Paul were able, as I hope, to pull off a delegate win at the RNC, that there is a place in an administration for Romney should be want it, but I doubt he will want it, he isn't spending 15+ million of his own money in the last 8 years for something like a Labor Secretary position :D
