A crash is looming once the July earnings reports come out, especially the ones from Japan. The effects of the Japanese earthquake will be pretty bad. There will be no putting lipstick on a pig this time.

Thanks for posting - reposted elsewhere.

The good news is Ron said he would feel obligated to run if there was some kind of economic collapse that would have people ready for his message.

Looks like he'll be running...now if we can just last until the election.

That guy is full of shit, he has made many unsubstantiated conspiracy theory claims. I am pretty sure that most of the Japanese issues have been priced into the market. I don't think anyone is going to be shocked by Japans shitty earnings. However, he is correct that July could be pandemonium. I am banking on a large spike in interest rates in July once QE2 is over. If people get spooked by stocks and treasuries are no longer a flight to safety then there really might be no where left for people to hide other than commodities.

Boom goes the dynamite!

There will not be a crash in that stawkees prices drop much but rather what their price buys in relation to all other goods and services. All that is left is inflation and you get the double kicker with stawkees, you get to pay a cap gain on the inflation tax. EG;

Ibm priced at 160 buys about 40 gallons of milk

Ibm priced at 180 might but 30 gallons of milk

You pay a cap gain of 20, and more for your milk and Uncle Ben laughs and says stawkee markets are improving.

You're getting ripped off. I pay $1.92 for a gallon of milk.

The town I live in has 4 major ($800,000+/week) grocery stores over less than a 2 mile stretch of road. My town by itself isn't big enough to support that kind of business, but all the people in the neighboring towns shop here, too. The competition is pretty fierce. On any given week, with a little planning, you can buy nearly all of your groceries at or below cost.
