Just want to mention that it is McCain's 'finance reform' that completely ignores the constitution (1st amendment) and limits our individual donations to $2300...basically handicapping any candidate who won't pander to any and every interest group just so he can raise money. Just look at the democrats...

Perhaps those of us who have maxed out might give our RP meetupgroup friends a little cash on the side so they can max out too?:D

Interesting thought about McCain

Here is a little interesting fact...

My last name is MacDonald, and in Scottish it means “Son of” Donald. The Irish have the very same history in their naming conventions. They use "Mc" for the meaning "Son of". So this means McCain is... John, “Son of” Cain. Interesting… has biblical connotations, doesn’t it.

Cain killed his own brother Abel, the son of his own parents Adam and Eve. That's pretty evil.

See Wikipedia Mac or Mc. Gaelic ancestral name to mean "son of", as in McCarthy (also Mac)
See Wikipedia Cain and Abel

Regards,

MacDee

yup, it favors the democrats massively of course, their "mass groups" will keep contributing hundreds of millions and getting massive government services in return

Actually, campaign finance reform is unfair not because it leans "Democrat" but because it favors the incumbent or the "connected". A person already in office can use the bully pulpit (i.e. call a press conference) at any time to voice their platform and try to garner support. A person who is already a darling of the media can get their face on TV at all hours of the day without paying a cent. The new contender, however, has to try to get his message out using his own cash. Obviously, the most egregious violation is that of the constitution... these are just ways that it manifests itself.

Yeah but McCain took matching funds. So, he is all for cutting back on government spending.
