Ted Cruz is infuriating !

Someone needs to nationally point this out to the republican base because Ted misrepresents Rand positions on foreign policy and because Ted keeps trying to say that only he is a Ron Paul republican who is not an isolationist. Sometimes he even tries makes it a point to say Rand is a isolationist. Which was basically how Rand set himself up to distinguish his foreign policy from his dads in the first place.

He refused to attack Trump's Mexican comments
It seems the favorite sport of the Washington media is to encourage some Republicans to attack other Republicans. I ain’t going to do it. I’m not interested in Republican-on-Republican violence.
Then he attacks Rubio for being too militaristic while simultaneously implying Rand is isolationist.

So in other words, he's actually running a smart campaign instead of a stupid one? Gee, imagine that. Think where we would be in the polls right now if Rand had simply done what Cruz is doing? Don't be infuriated by Cruz. Learn from him.

eh.

Disengenuous is not a characteristic that I want in a POTUS. Sorry, I "learned" from Richard Nixon and Bush 41 and Bush 42 and Clinton (omg) and Our current POTUS.

Yet Paul has been saying this for awhile now...Arghhhhhh.
Rand needs to call him out on it...again.

Rand's problem on this (and on a number of other issues in fact) is that he is too wishy washy. Everything is "might", "maybe", "I think". You can say that Rand has made points similar to what Cruz did in his article before, but Rand has never spoken as strongly and decisively on the matter, and that is just inexcusable. Unlike Cruz, Rand doesn't have big money neocon supporters he has to worry about not offending.

I am not infuriated by Cruz, but disappointed because until he attacked Rand and started being petty and talking over him in the debates he was my second choice. I thought that Ted Cruz was a friend of the liberty movement, but I don't call fucking over your friends a redeeming quality so it wouldn't be one I would want in a president.

Mostly because Media HATES the Pauls

but Rand has never spoken as strongly and decisively on the matter, and that is just inexcusable.

I wouldn't say it's primarily Rand's fault. I thought calling the neocons out as "Obama's lapdogs" seven (eight?) months ago was pretty strong. Rand had stated essentially the same thing about John McCain, Lindsey Graham and quite obviously their "son" Marco Rubio - but remember how it was responded to when it was reported on?!

Rand Paul: ‘Hawks’ in GOP Created ISIS
by PAM KEY 27 May 2015

Wednesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” 2016 Republican presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul said so-called “hawks” like Sen. Sen. Lindsey Graham are responsible for creating ISIS by flooding arms into the Middle East.

Host Joe Scarborough asked, “A guy that works closely with Sen. John McCain (R-AZ)41%
will be running against you, we think. He’s going to be a heat-seeking Rand missile throughout the entire campaign, Lindsey Graham. Lindsey Graham would say ISIS exists because of people like Rand Paul who said let’s not go into Syria. What do you say to Lindsey?”

Paul shot back, “I would say it’s exactly the opposite. ISIS exists and is stronger because of the hawks in our party who gave arms indiscriminately. Most of those arms were snatched up by ISIS. These hawks wanted to bomb Assad, which would have made ISIS’ job even easier. They created these people. ISIS is all over Libya because these same hawks in my party, they loved Hillary Clinton’s war in Libya . They just wanted more of it. Libya is a failed state. It’s a disaster. Iraq really is a failed state.”

He continued, “So everything they’ve talked about in foreign policy they’ve been wrong about for 20 years, yet they somehow have the gall to point the finger otherwise.”

Most reports didn't even mention that Rand was responding to an insulting statement Graham had made about him - just made it sound like Rand suddenly decided to go on a "blame America" rant.

Rubio may not be mentioned by name in this video, but we know Rand means him too.

Here's the thread. It was in April.

That he was saying it in response to an attack by Graham is precisely the problem. "Hillary Created ISIS" should have been been Rand's primary foreign policy soundbite that she should have been hammering in to peoples heads every day for months. Call her a traitor. Talk about the Christian genocide Obama and Hillary have aided and abetted in the Middle East. Go for the damn jugular. Instead he waits until people attack him to mention it and muddles things up by talking about other Republicans rather than keeping the focus on Hillary and Obama.

I haven't really been paying attention to all the b.s., but this Cruz Rand-rip-off is incredible. The "debate" last night really gives a pretty good idea just what kind of interference these bastard-chip earners are willing to run.

I didn't see anyone else mention this, but during the last debate Cruz seemed to set himself to steal Rand's talking point, and Wolf Blitzer shut that shit down, even having cnn shut off his mic. That was amazing and my favorite moment of the night. He was truly the hero of the day.

Wow, I remember that but didn't realize they actually shut his mic off. I guess we aren't the only ones who are aware of Cruz's sleaze tactics.
