Stump for Paul in Iowa YouTube Video Speech Contest

November 26, 2011: Over the next two weeks Ron Paul supporters around the world will participate in an exciting and challenging event -- Stump for Paul in Iowa YouTube Video Speech Contest.

Contestants will produce a two-minute video of a speech which would be appropriate to give at an Iowa caucus in support of Ron Paul.

Sometime before December 15 at 11:59 PM contestants must (1) upload their video entry to YouTube and (2) submit their entry to the administrator.

Entries will be judged on content, delivery, and camera work/sound/appearance/background. Judges include Thomas E. Woods and John Dennis.

“These videos will serve to encourage and inspire others to deliver stump speeches at the January 3, 2012 Iowa caucus. If we get Ron Paul supporters from Iowa and elsewhere to deliver moving and powerful speeches all across Iowa we can give Ron Paul a boost and push him over the top for victory," says Jun Dam, administrator of Stump for Paul in Iowa YouTube Video Speech Contest.

Prizes for this contest total $1100. All entries will receive two Ron Paul bumper stickers.

More details on the contest, including a complete list of the official rules, can be found here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtXNJb55ZlQ.

not sure what this really accomplishes. Is it suppose to serve as a model of a speech you can give at the caucus?

I do believe that is the point. Help the brave folks in Iowa have their words together before they enter the caucus battlefield. I don't know what it's like, but the videos I've seen make it look pretty harrowing, having some prepared words before you go is definitely an advantage.

Stories from last time point to amazing speeches that convinced caucus-goers in the county that Ron Paul placed first.

Apparently there's a good number of undecided voters going into the caucus.

And looking at the shifting polls, a lot of people will switch their preference when someone reports positively about a candidate.

So far I've got:

I'd like to start with a message from my 12 year old daughter quote "If you covet safety over freedom, there's a place called Canada not 600 miles away." For the rest of you....

This a great contest, and I appreciate the help as I will likely be giving out precinct's speech. We discussed this at our meeting last week.

Working on my third entry today. This is so much fun. I could write a dozen two-minute speeches about Ron and not run out of material.

It is a good one. But I'm not sure Ron is a Vietnam veteran.

WHAT?! Ofcourse he is a Vietnam Veteran, he was drafted and served 5 years as a doctor durring Vietnam. He talks about it ALL the time in a LOT of his speechs.

Edit: In fact he is the ONLY Vietnam Veteran on the stage. the only other vet is Rick Perry, Newt and Romney dodged the draft. Poor Romney dodged the draft as a Mormon "minister of religion". Ron Paul was the only one to go even though he could have gotten a deferment.
