It entirely misses the distinction between shootings and mass-shootings--an important detail. So if we want to relate a social concern to shootings in general it would pertain to street gang violence, drug trafficking, and an overall lack of responsibility by parents--including incidents involving off-duty police--which as a result granted unsupervised access by their children to their loaded firearms.
