Stephen Colbert exploring S. C. presidential run

Sounds like he's gonna screw us over.

Can't the GOP kick him off the ballot? He's not a serious candidate.

Whatever he is doing, is immoral...since it is just a big joke to him.

No, it's not immoral: He's a protest candidate. It's a legitimate way of expressing discontent.

Realistically speaking, he's not going to get votes that would otherwise go to Ron Paul. Instead, he'll get votes from kids who are too liberal to like Ron Paul, but who want to make a statement or have a few kicks.

Polls generally don't pick up first time voters very easily.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching Colbert, but the stakes are too high right now to risk everything getting screwed up at the last minute. The SC GOP needs to keep him off the ballot, and ban write-ins if Colbert tries to pull this crap.

If he's at 5%, he's taking that from somewhere. It's not Romney or Newt.

It's just a bunch of liberal kids who figure they'll have more fun voting for him than actually casting a real vote in the locked up Democratic primary. Trust me, his votes are not coming from people who would otherwise vote for a serious candidate. Anyone who would even consider voting for Ron Paul has too much concern over where we are as a country to throw a joke/protest vote in this primary.

He got 5% in NH because it was an open primary, and a bunch of liberal kids figured they'd have more fun voting for him than actually casting a real vote in the locked up Democratic primary. His votes are not coming from people who would otherwise vote for a serious candidate...and since SC seems to be a closed primary state, he won't be nearly as successful. Anyone who would even consider voting for Ron Paul has too much understanding about where we are as a country to throw a joke/protest vote in this primary.

I think you have that backwards. He has 5 percent in SC poll (he's from SC). Also anybody can vote in SC.
