Bruce Springsteen’s veteran E-Street band guitarist Steven Van Zandt issued a call to fans and supporters on social media Sunday to “Exterminate the (Republican) cockroaches.”

His rallying cry to target GOP supporters, half of America, came during an expletive-laden exchange on Twitter.

It began when the guitarist ventured forth by abusing what he called “Republican White Supremicist scumbag cowards and pussies that need guns to feel like real men” after TN representatives demanded gun controls.

Van Zandt was then called out on Twitter by a follower for his abuse, which he quickly resumed.

He said he deleted his original anti-Republican post for a host of reasons, viz;

To avoid spending half my day deleting Foxsucking scumbag Russian bots and MAGOTT cockroaches like you! Go take away some women’s rights, keep some Black people from voting, go harass a Trans event, go shoot some kids, do what Republicans do best and get the fuck outta my feed!

Having met both personally, albeit briefly, even though Joel is a lefty as well, I agree, he is much less "douchy".

He's a self detracting kind of man, which goes a long way in reducing "douchiness". I recall an interview that he gave once, and the interviewer asked him about being a "rock star". He responded, "I'm no rock star, I'm just a blue collar working stiff that got blessed with some musical talent. I mean, look at me: I look like the guy who makes your pizza."

I'm told by some folks that I used to know out on the island, that he's cheap however...tight with his money.

His nickname around town was "Dollar Bill".

They were sooooo busy marrying, getting divorced, then re-marrying that they basically said "just raise yourself" to my generation (Gen X). The only generation that can rival them in self-aggrandizement is the Millennial generation.

My biggest problem with that generation is their inability to acknowledge that shit has changed for the worse (economically, socially, etc.), and they seem to have an inherent trust in powerful government institutions (FBI).
