Ive heard a rumor CFL will be offering reduced price tickets or there may be student tickets availabe for $30.

Im sure there are many people such as myself who cannot make it to the SRLC but would happily sponsor a student or person to attend Dr Pauls speech and vote in the poll. Im sure there are also locals who would like to go, but could use financial assistance.

If you would like to sponsor a person (or a few) to go, please post in this thread and I will update the first post with the Sponsor / Sponsee information. Please do not post request for financial assistance unless you really need it.

I'm not quite clear on the protocol you intend for this thread, JB. And I would like to see that rumored $30.00 ticket price confirmed. But if that price is confirmed, then I would happily sponsor someone... perhaps two. :)

Just that.... people who would be willing to send someone for that pricetag post, and I add you to the list above as so :)

I'm the President of YAL at LSU. We have 4-5 people who want to go, only one or two of whom can afford to go. Honestly, this has more to do with gas and lodgings than it does with the ticket price (though that doesn't help).

lol you really that hard up for $30 Matt?

If that's all it takes to get the legendary MC to SRLC, I'm in.

James,

You were thinking along the same lines I was when I requested this sub-forum. However, I think you'll find my proposal a lot less work for you: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=234646

I missed that. I will continue to update the thread unless it gets out of control or unproductive. I think its nice to at least have the sponsors list in one place. Then people who wish to attend can PM.

If this is true il post it up. I cant tell if Matt was proposing to go in jest :p

Can anyone get confirmation of the ticket prices?

If the tickets are really $30, I'll join in as a "sponsor" for one or two people. If the tickets are gonna run at $160 per.... well.... *gulp* not so much...

Well to be completely honest I'm not in a position to financially justify the trip but I'll be able to make the time to go. I can get a stand-by fare with an airline which would cost me $60/round trip (assuming there are empty seats), but I'd need a place to stay and a bit of a stipend for food - eating out is expensive. Of course if there is no empty seat then driving would cost me $150 round trip. As long as the entire trip doesn't cost me more than $100 total out of pocket I can do it. I'm not a charity case by any stretch, but my income is not where it needs to be, thus I can't justify the expenses because it would be imprudent for me to do so. If there were an "angel donor" however then I'm good to go -- although I must admit one should max out donations to Rand or Kokesh or RJ before paying to send anyone to NOLA because getting these guys elected is infinitely more significant than winning a straw poll for Ron.

Guys (rp08orbust & JamesButabi),

I hope I'm not going to initiate a turf war or anything, but I hope we can get a clear consensus on the methodology here. As I stated previously, I would be more than happy to offer some level of sponsorship to one or more individuals, but I (and I assume others) need clarity on precisely how this is to be accomplished.

Not at all man! I figured I would just help list all of the donors in one spot. Lets see how this C4L rumor shapes up.

Sponsorship request!

I can make the time and take one other person along, with some help. May already have tickets handled through RPF member rp08orbust but will also need gas $.

Plan is to leave Friday AM, camp outside NOLA Friday nite, attend SRLC Saturday then return to camp, drive home Sunday. Total round-trip mileage approx. 1250 @ 35mpg = 35 gal. @ $3/gal. = $105.

Doesn't sound like much to most but on my monthly income of around $800, more than half of which goes to housing expenses (mortgage, utilities, insurance), it's a small fortune. Already maxxed out on use of credit.

Any help appreciated and gladly accepted. Send PM for further info. I do have a paypal debit card that I can use at gas pumps....
