i hate to say this but it seems that eventful.com has been spammed...i hope that this is not the case for every poll i hope rons support is trully real, but when i went to eventful.com i was scrolling through the names and i came across this.. http://eventful.com/users/adeptgemini

this person has 996 demands all for ron paul

this other guy has 1164 demands for ron paul
http://eventful.com/users/axiomic

i know this suks that people do this and i hate it because i really support ron paul but guys this has to stop..we can't make up false support for ron....

The way Ron Paul has gone Viral on the Internet, I think the internet is going to get filled up pretty soon with Ron Paul support.

Is it possible that Ron Paul supporters crash the Internet?

Seems to me that any doubles, triples, quads or hundreds or thousands or repeats by the same individual or IP should be handled by their application software. If not they can hire me to write the two or three conditionals stopping such problems.

A thought.. Not all the Ron Paul supporter problems are coming from the Ron Paul supporter camps.

Best Regards

They have this set up for individual events but they fail to "connect events".

I really dont like people spamming, b/c when it is provable it only confirms those who say this internet support is not as real as it appears.

Personally I "demanded" 3 events for Paul, all in metros where I reside at some point in time during the year, and I dont feel that is spamming.

I worried about the spamming issue because about two weeks ago I added a demand for Paul in my small home town, within a half hour two more people added their name to it, as well as adding their names to about 700 more towns-- kind of bothered me. About a day ago I went back to see how many people, if any, had added their name and guess what? My town had been removed. So either they thought that all of us were spam, or there was a worse or more nefarious reason to remove my name and a demand for Paul.

hah right. Like only Ron Paul supporters spam. ;)

I have never heard of a candidate spammer until I heard Ron Paul supporters labeled spammers.

We desperately need to try and reduce the virtual blowback that will result from being seen as spammers.

People like this do more harm than good, I"m afraid. :(

What can you do about it besides discourage it? That is all we can do. We can't control thousands of individuals.

I fail to see a problem. What's wrong with demanding he visit 1,000 different localities? who cares? This isn't "fake" support; maybe the guy will actually be going to those places, maybe he's a travelling salesman. But ultimately, what does it matter? I fail to see how Eventful is the legitimiz0r, or the illegimitiz0r, of the RP campaign.

I'm starting to think these Truthers might become a serious headache, though.

I agree with Rev. If these web sites had the proper software installed, there would be no such thing as spamming polls etc. I think most sites record your IP so you can't do it over and over.

I am beyond caring. We have legitimate people that support and even with that we are going to be called spammers anyway.

Wow, someone from Austrailia realllly likes Ron Paul. Sorry but I think that is really cool.

I for one am sick of being spammed by phone calls about leading candidates. Stupid spammers.

software solution only

The only way to control this is through the Eventful site - email the webmaster. People who don't support Paul will do it to promote the idea that we're spammers, so getting the word out won't stop them.

It doesn't matter really, at least to me, but the word "spammer" is being used as a way of marginalizing Ron Paul and his supporters. Personally any attention is good attention.

That's the last thing we should even think about. Just get the word out that it actually hurts the cause. People who are actually guilty of spamming are doing it for Ron Paul, and once they realize that it is hurting him they will stop. If they don't they will be viewed as that idiot cointelpro http://digg.com/search?section=news&s=cointelpro

Some people don't see that it hurts him. These people won't listen. They argue that since the media is biased and marginalizing him, that it's justified, and they see themselves 'at war' and feel that anything is justified. Since they won't listen, and we can't prevent them from doing it, there is nothing we can do about it but live with it and combat it like we combat the MSM. *sigh*

As your first and only post I find it quite curious that you decide this as your first and only post. How cute. I do not see the point in "monitoring fellow supporters" however I do see the point in "monitoring opponent's supporters" Couple things..

this is not news.

Nobody wants to exclude anyone. Get over it.

They aren't going to go away.. and neither are we.

bravo!

I use eventful.com to find other local folks. Sadly about half of the people supporting my local demands aren't local at all - one is from Australia, even! eventful is not a poll for general support, it's about trying to figure out how many people in a given geographic area would attend an event. It's a useful tool for Dr. Paul when he decides where to throw fundraisers. Throwing a fundraiser in a place where there are 100 demands and then only having a dozen people show up is pointless and counterproductive. :(

Lots of people won't register til they find something that they feel would be substantial to add.

Regardless of his intentions, he brings a good point to the table that should be dealt with. Welcome to the forums joey.
