So we all know that Ron Paul will get 5th, right?

I'm not being pessimistic, I'm being realistic. Unless somebody shows me some proof to the contrary, I don't think Ron Paul stands a chance in this state.

Even worse, Florida mostly has old people, and they will all, most likely, vote for McCain.

Nevertheless, I'm hoping we can look past our 5th place and do a massive blow-out on Super Tuesday.

Who cares? We are after delegates, not beauty contest wins.

wow, We Must remain positive in this race because a lot of us understand that RP is probably our last hope for America. We must fight with all of our might to bring about 'real' change in the way the country does business. Once again, there' no room for negativity.

...except that they all moved to FL to get warm, and now McCain wants to combat global warming. Someone should remind them that McCain intends to take us back to the mini ice age.:D

I'm a realist, I know that we won't win. But really... anyone who thinks there's zero support in FL for him is just plain wrong and probably doesn't live here.

I've even seen RP signs in the backwoods of the Apalachicola forest... 4 months ago! This state is chock full of Paul supporters... it just has a large population and this winner take all, half the delegates business has just seriously negatively influenced the chances for anyone not on top. It's really an injustice because it makes people think they need to vote for "someone who can win". Not to mention the glaring differences in demographics in different parts of the state... areas like mine that are super, super conservative (77% Republican registrations), but only 5% of the population. We get screwed by "winner take all" and end up largely unrepresented. This is something that those of us actively involved in the RPoF *MUST* start to change.

We still want a strong fifth, though. A 2% 5th would hurt us significantly, I think, since I doubt Maine will be really reported by the MSM, where we'll probably do much better than in FL. A strong 10% would be ideal and is possible, though unlikely (some polls put us at 6-7%, and we've been able to get 3% swings before); 5% is most likely, though.

Exactly - unfortunately, it doesn't make a difference in delegates (why does FL have to have a crappy winner-take-all system?), but it changes everything in the eyes of the media. It's a week before Super Tuesday, so it's important that we pull a "close fifth - barely behind ______ (probably Huckabee)," and not a "in a distant last place, longshot and kook Ron Paul."

Of course, they'll spin it negatively either way, but the % don't lie.

I'm voting Romney in Florida...

That doesn't mean I'm not a RP supporter and big time donor....it just means I CAN'T FUCKING STAND JOHN MCCAIN

Ive considered that as well but i just couldnt do that to the good doctor. Support in the Panhandle is pretty good i must say. Its southern Florida thats the problem.

Yeah, and 2nd-4th won't matter, but will be reported down through guido.
Paul will be top 3 in Maine, pull delegates, and will still be left off the short list.

I would never support Romney in a general election...but our votes in Florida do not matter when McCain-Romney are tied 32%-32%

If McCain wins he's going to sweep Super Tuesday and unleash a hell storm on this country.

I HATE THAT GUY MORE THAN TED KENNNEDY HIMSELF.

So I'm voting Romney this round...sadly.

VOTE FOR RON PAUL. PERIOD. South Florida will pull in anywhere from 4-8% in my prediction if not more. We are very VERY dedicated here and wouldn't even dream of voting for any of the other FRAUDS.

SHAME ON THOSE WHO CONSIDER VOTING FOR OTHERS. Where are your principles? We need a decent showing in Florida for MORAL. Don't let the rest of the Revolution Down. VOTE WITH YOUR HEART! VOTE FOR RON PAUL!

Vote for Ron Paul. Rudy is down to 4th in the polls and we can beat him. It is important to get a decent percent so people on Super Tuesday don't get too scared to vote Ron Paul.

My heart is set and it's AGAINST McCain.

If McCain wins Florida...he's already ahead in nearly every Super Tuesday State. That means this nomination is OVER.

Did I miss something? I was under the impression Romney was our biggest threat, and that if he wins Florida, the establishment will put their full weight behind him and he'll start sweeping states? Either way, you only get to vote once in this primary, and if Ron Paul doesn't win the general election, whoever does win will send our country straight to hell equally (no matter who it is). That said, remember: Even if McCain wins the Republican nomination, no Republican besides Ron Paul can beat a Democrat in the general election. Therefore, you have absolutely nothing to lose by voting your conscience this time, and we all stand to lose if you cave and vote for the supposed "lesser" of two evils at a time like this.
