I dragged my mother to the precinct convention this evening and met a few other activists. One of the other ladies there liked Ron Paul, which is good. The other two liked the principled ideas I put forward, so we are going to submit a couple of new resolutions at the county convention.

We are going to put in one resolution concerning contract law, calling for a prohibition of government re-writing of contracts (including the Fed), or limitation of the types of contracts that can be entered into between consenting parties.

The other resolution will be a repudiation of federal attempts to interfere with water law in Texas, and expressing continuing support for the Law of Capture in Texas.

Over the next two weeks I will be writing these up, and I will post them here (or in General Politics) for review. If anyone has any other ideas, I got contact information for our delegates, so I can talk to them about it.

Are you precinct chair, precinct convention chair, or both? It's two different things. In order to be precinct chair, you would have had to file by January 2.

Right on. I was precinct convention chair as well. My first time. I'm hoping all of the delegates from your precinct are liberty-minded?

All the ones I nominated were. The others are unlikely to show up.

I think our secretary is liberty minded (she likes Ron Paul), but I didn't have time to get a detailed read on any of them.

Our little precinct got a surprising number of delegates (10). We weren't able to fill them all in.

My guess is that I will be the only one that shows up, along with one of my nominees.

I love seeing all the Medina folks getting to their conventions. I hope there are many, many more of us.

Can someone explain to me what all this precinct-y stuff is about? I keep hearing talk of delegates and resolutions and all that, but I don't know what the end goal is here...

a suggestion

congratulations -- is the chair position of your precinct filled? if not, ask your county chair for you to be appointed to the position. your stepping up to run the precinct convention should help to back your request. it might take a vote of the executive committee to do this. if the position is already filled, you might want to run against them in 2 years.

way to go!
