Silver/Gold Mining Stocks

Just curious if anyone has expertise in the area of Gold and Silver mining stocks. I've got too large a percentage in the GLD EFT, would like to buy some junior gold and silver mining companies.

And picking these things can be a serious crap shoot. Just curious if there were any legit financial people on here or people that have experience in investing in the mining sector.

Picking individual mining stocks is tough. Juniors even more so, as they are mostly speculative.

A couple of my favorites over the years have been SLW and ANV, but they have already risen dramatically, so you would not be getting in on the ground floor.

Given you have little experience, I recommend staying with physical precious metals. Gold/Silver stocks have underperformed the actual metals with higher volatility. It is the worst of both worlds. Go with physical and you won't be sorry. For those financially inclined and willing to put in at least 10 hours a week, by all means, go find your miners and share your insights with the rest of us.

You might also want to diversify a little bit by using CEF in addition to GLD. Very old and trusted silver/gold bullion fund.
