As I take it the Ron Paul view is states should be able to do whatever... Even restrict the bill of rights. Do you believe that states should have this right?

I don't. Believe US states have authority to dissolve rights granted by thes US Bill of Rights or Constitution only that each state has the right to modify their own bill of rights and constitution.

Every State should make Reformed Presbyterianism the State Religion (thus violating the 1st) and then secede.

Ron Paul would not agree with this, but he might let them do it, not sure :P

There are items reserved for the Fed. Everything else is states rights. So no the state cannot do whatever it wants if it conflicts with the constitution.

US "Bill of Rights" is a mistaken concept...

Those are "Amendments to the US Constitution".

They started off stating specifically what the fed-gov could not do.
Then, # 9 and 10 spelled out evathin' else
goes to the states or stays with the people.
Your rights should remain nearly infinite.

The example of alcohol prohibition is clearly trying to play by the rules in
1919 #18, then repealed in 1933 #21 Then, even the rules went away!

The states have their own State Constitutions. IMO they can contain what ever
as long as they do not prevent the fed-gov from performing its functions outlined
in the US Constitution. Abe Lincoln FUBAR'd every state that tried to wiggle away!

The Amendments started off by limiting
and then later dealing with the fed-gov,
but it's all gone down the crapper ever since...
It's pretty much reduced to toilet paper now with
only the #3 Amendment holding ground
for most
people and houses...

For a few decades now, even local/state Police are told if
a person possesses or talks about the US Constitution, they
might be a terrorist or some sort of a dangerous nut case that
probably requires a good beating if the cameras are all turned off.
lol
