New Jersey's Republican Party is currently in the process of selecting a nominee to face Cory Booker in the Fall. The reality of the situation is that whoever the nominee is, they face an uphill battle in unseating Cory Booker. Only one candidate holds the endorsement of Congressman Ron Paul and has voiced the message of liberty for years. Dr. Murray Sabrin, a finance professor at Ramapo College of NJ, is a staunch supporter of the Constitution and stands as New Jersey's voice for Libertarianism. If we can help Murray win the Republican nomination (which by the way is scheduled for June 3rd) it will send a strong message to the NJ GOP -- a message that says liberty is taking over the Republican party! A debate between Dr. Sabrin and Cory Booker would be historic; Booker is a shallow debater and lacks any knowledge of monetary policy. The Senate race in NJ is a prime opportunity for our message of limited government to be heard. I encourage all supporters of Dr. Ron Paul to follow suit and support Dr. Murray Sabrin in New Jersey! His chances of winning the nomination are as good as the next guy's, as the GOP establishment has failed to run a candidate of their own. You heard me, the race lacks any (from what we can tell) intervention from the GOP establishment!

**I know Ron Paul supporters will respond to the call of duty when a fellow candidate of liberty needs help in a different part of the country. Mayor Steve Lonegan made Booker's Senate aspirations difficult last year in a special Senate election to fill the seat of Frank Lautenberg. The pundits anticipated that Booker would win by 20-30 points, but Lonegan made it a 10-12 point race, ultimately losing the election. Like Lonegan, Sabrin is a fire brand candidate who has the potential to finish Lonegan's work from last year and close the gap. DONATE TODAY AND SUPPORT MURRAY SABRIN!

While I support Dr. Paul Broun (I'm referring to your signature), do you really think he will get elected? The ultimate goal is getting our guys elected. But the message is equally important. That's why I want to see Murray Sabrin as the nominee against Booker. New Jersey needs a wakeup call.

He was the frontrunner in the beginning and had a great chance throughout. Since he lost last night though, I need to remove him from my signature.

It can never be "all or nothing" in life, my friend. Beating Booker would be great, and I realize it is a difficult task. But showing New Jersey that our values are taking over the GOP is very important, and it says a lot if the NJ GOP nominates a supporter of liberty. Just because the war might be not be nearly winnable in NJ, winning a few battles along the way is equally important. Be careful what you declare "a waste of time."

By the way, Lonegan made a 20-30 point race a 10-12 point race against Booker in NJ last year (sure it was a special election on an off day, but still significant). Sabrin might finish Lonegan's work, who knows?

The "liberty movement's" resources are better spent on races where our candidate can actually win.

I completely agree with you. But keep in mind, a lot of the primaries are ending now. Murray's primary is coming up, so some people might agree to contribute to his bid in addition to the other ones. But I agree with you completely.

Who is the primary opponent?

I heard Murray Sabrin speak once and was impressed enough to tell him quickly afterwards.

Beating Booker in NJ is probably just about impossible though.

The primary opponents are Brian Goldberg (small business owner), Jeff Bell (political operative during Reagan's time), and Rich Pezzullo (small businessman). Goldberg is pretty much a liberal on abortion, he's just completely out of the question for a true supporter of liberty. Bell lives in Virginia but quickly moved to NJ to run in this primary. He's not relevant, plus he represents "old American politics." His days are over, I have to say. Pezzullo has no money, no name, and never filed his campaign's money totals thus far (skeleton in his closet???)

Basically, none of them have the name recognition, fundraising abilities, and overall GUTS to take on Booker. Pezzullo is probably the second best because he is a committed conservative. However, Murray Sabrin has the most money in the field, the most campaign experience in NJ (despite never being elected), and the endorsement of Ron Paul himself. The other guys have ZERO chance of beating Booker. Sabrin has a SMALL chance. When asked if he could beat Booker in November, Sabrin responded, "I KNOW I can." Confidence is important, so I encourage that you back Sabrin through any means possible. Thanks for writing in.

Sabrin is a joke. I still regret donating to him in 2008, and he rubbed salt in the wound by begging us to pay off his debts after he freaking gambled with the money.

He is an asshole.

But he is the "frontrunner". lol

Anybody considering giving to sabrin should give to lonegan instead, he's actually running for a red seat in NJ and will be a bomb thrower in congress.

I like Lonegan and Sabrin. Even though they don't like each other! Both candidates support liberty, and that's most important.

If I'm not mistaken, the Sabrin Senate campaign in 2008 had a ONE HOUR money bomb where every dollar donated to the campaign in THAT HOUR would be bet on a horse in the Kentucky Derby. Why did you contribute if you knew the money was going to be gambled?

I donated prior to that, but that's when I realized what an idiot he is and regretted donating to him in the first place. Then I double regretted it when he expected us to pay off his debt.

Fair warning for anyone who might get caught up and donate to him--these sorts of people and stunts harm the movement overall. I did learn a good lesson though--Ron Paul, while a very good human being, is shitty when it comes to endorsements. He hands them out like chicklets.

I think his biggest sin was misleading a bunch of naïve neo-politicos interested in politics for the first time or first in a long time about his actual chances. Murray "The frontrunner" Sabrin....

I understand your frustration. But when candidates go into debt, they often times ask supporters to help pay it off. I'm with you, I wouldn't help pay debt off, its his problem, not ours! But what he did was typical of political campaigns. Look at Newt Gingrich, he's still in debt from the 2012 race and he asked for help to pay it off (I'm almost sure he did). If you think Sabrin is "an idiot," well that's your opinion.

Forgot about that part of his pitch.

I still really like BJ Lawson, Amit Singh and the physicist from NH that I donated to in '08--only Sabrin really made me regret my enthusiasm back then.

I don't support typical politicians like Newt Gingrich or Hillary Clinton. Perhaps a better descriptor for Sabrin is "opportunist" over "idiot," but I'm not entirely sure--and me thinking that he's a dumbass is kinder than thinking he was/is trying to use us.
