Say "Abolish the __Bureaucratic__ Dept of Education" not "Abolish the Dept of Ed"

Every time I hear "Abolish the Department of Education" I cringe badly. So does everyone else. For proof, see the Las Vegas News interview http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AV9nzNS6ZOQ

Inserting the word "bureaucratic" gives it a strong negative connotation so people immediately know where Dr. Paul is coming from even without him explaining it.

This will save a ridiculous amount of headache by avoiding the initial shock of "OMG he is against education!"

Abolish is a negative word

"Abolish" is a negative word, what would be the word or phrase to switch it to a "positive"

The freedom, liberty message.

Essentially something along the lines of who do you want controlling your child's education? You, your school board, your State, your Federal Government, the Democrats, the Republicans? Since Ron Paul is a Republican, we could probably the republicans off the list Republicans.

"Higher teacher pay"
"Teacher Empowerment rather than oppressive government regulations"
"Parent empowerment in local schools where their voices can be heard"
"Remove restrictions on children's education so they can get ahead in our country"

These are some ways to point specific results positively

I posted here yesterday regarding educational policy, huckabee trolls must be on our boards, ever time I tune in to a "media" sponsored clip of hiim, he takes a bit more from Ron Paul's platform in mixes it up with his radical views of the constitution, which no ones supports.

Ron's education statement is good, because he reminds Republicans that Once the Republicans stood for abolishing the department of education, now the republicans sound like the democrats on education policy and it too has grown out of control, more big government and less and less parents rights.

Ron should stick with it and remind people of President Eisenhower's National Defense Education Act, which states, No federal control on what is taught in schools, districts should open their choice of educational tools for the local parents to select and review.

Huckabee pulled that from our boards yesterday and hawked it on MSNBC this morning. So Huckabee if your watching, don't think we are not. Just because the media gives you a pass, doesn't mean the voters are going to.

"Bureaucratic" can be over-used, though, but in any case Paul needs to connect with the people like the other dingbats do, on a more simple level that everyone can understand without a history lesson (which is really what they need but have no patience for).
