Saudi channel publishes photo ‘from Yemen’… but really from first Gulf war

The Saudi TV channel Al Arabiya has come under fire for publishing a fake photo online. On Monday, it posted the following photo to its official Twitter account. The description, in Arabic, reads: “Al Arabiya exclusive: Saudi Arabia’s Operation Decisive Storm destroys a Houthi military convoy in Saada [Yemen].”

This isnt the first time that Al Arabiya lied and used false images about a war zone, the other time they did this was during the war in Syria where they used an Egyptian Mig fighter image by claiming that it was an Syrian fighter that bombed an village.

It's been interesting to see all the headlines about bombing going on here and there yet there's little to no actual video of any of it. Lots of words in articles, lots of photos that could be from anywhere and any time.

I always remember William Casey's quote about considering the CIA's mission complete when everything the American public believes is false.

Perhaps I missed it but I don't see any video on that page. Just another picture of something indescript on fire.

I even went to the Video section of that website to check for videos and every one I clicked on that was labeled as being Saudi/Yemen related gave error message "The Video You Are Trying To Watch Cannot Be Viewed From Your Country Or Location".

Saudi Arabia took a significant risk by attacking and saying they would not leave until their mission is accomplished. Even in the scenario that Arab armies would invade I think that would be an even worse move by the coalition.

The Houthis are still advancing, they have a lot of arms, and they are skilled fighters who know their lands best. Saudi Arabia's army is untested in such an operation. I believe the coalitions efforts will fail and send Yemen spiraling even further out of control.

And there is a false perception that all Houthis are Shia. This is not correct and as simple as "sectarian". That makes an easy pretext for the coalition states and people eat it up. These air strikes are killing Yemeni civilians. There is a good chance of blow back in causing civilians the population to increase support to the Houthis AND increase Al-Qaeda & IS recruitment.

Saudi Arabia is a cancer from which Wahhabism has such influence and has served as ideology for the true terrorist groups in the region. I believe and hope that this is a major set back from these rancid governments.

Al Arabiya is a propaganda outlet for the US and Gulf monarchies. Look into the circumstances of its creation, it should be pretty obvious that it is not to be taken seriously.
