Saudi Arabia and Al-Qaeda

I find it rather odd that in the Wikileaks that hit the news yesterday and today evinces how Saudi Arabia is the biggest financial backer of Al-Qaeda, when the U.S. is in the middle of selling the Saudis a copious amount of weapons. I wonder who those weapons will go to?

Many Qaeda come from Saudi . The weapons going to Saudi are for the Saud military , so they feel more secure about Iran and previously Iraq . Some of this may also be a payoff for them to keep trading oil in dollars instead of considering different currencies .
