President Putin Returns Russia to the Gold Standard
News Punch » Feed / Sean Adl-TabatabaiPresident Putin has announced the return of the gold standard in Russia which could make the Ruble the single most stable currency on the planet.

EDITOR’S NOTE (Nick Stamatakis): Vladimir Putin took a HUGE step today to stabilize the ruble by returning to the gold standard – i.e. backing up the ruble with gold. This rule was abandoned in the West in 1971 by President Nixon and since then it lead to an economy that is unstable and “fake”, based on the printing of money… This is an excellent move for Russia – except the West will only have one option now: To go to War with Russia and eliminate the danger… Or try to assasinate Putin – as lunatics Sean Hannity and Senator Lindsey Graham said yesterday…

Did some digging and there is an open question whether this is an old video clip. One Twitter comment claimed that the VAT on gold has been abolished in Russia since 2019. In any case, the bigger problem than whether gold is taxed, or not, is whether property-rights are secure. While Russia today is certainly better than it was under the Soviets, it still has a lot of problems in this area. Russians just don't have a strong concept of popular private-property like we have in the West or, at least, used to have.

Today, there seems to be nowhere in the world where any non-trivial amount of assets can be safely stored without threat of summary seizure by some petty tyrant or another, on a trumped-up pretext. A political order in which the ordinary citizen is expected to be familiar with every jot-and-tittle in floors and floors of arcane legal texts is flatly anti-human. We live in a world order that is flatly hostile to human existence. It's always been this way, but the little people used to be able to survive by squeezing through the gaps in the system. That's precisely the "flaw" that the psychopathic globalists have been mad scrambling to "fix" for more than a century. They have built (fait accompli) the infrastructure for a global total-surveillance-state overseen by mechanical AI systems that exhaustively audit and examine every single footstep you take (literally[1]). This system is already deployed in the major urban centers of China, and will be rolling out to the rest of the world as soon as they can make that happen. China's just the prototype.

In my view, there is no longer any political solution. The globalists have lunged for the death-blow; they have committed their full weight this time, they're holding nothing back in reserve. So, this will either kill human freedom, worldwide, now and forever... or the globalists will be stopped in their tracks and defeated. This is truly an either-or situation, good-versus-evil. Even gold can't save us from our predicament...

[1] -- "The official guidance called for a nationwide system that would 'allow the trustworthy to roam everywhere under heaven, while making it hard for the discredited to take a single step,' to be in place by 2020", How China Is Using “Social Credit Scores” to Reward and Punish Its Citizens. It might sound poetic, but this is much more literal than you probably think!

It's a big step because it indicates that swapping currency for physical metal is no longer a purchase of goods/commodity but is rather a conversion of currency to money. Such a conversion is not a "sale". Hope that makes sense.
