Yes, that's right....ON THE HOUSE FLOOR!

Sure, on the Alex Jones show he answered the question with, "Yes, I think we're in great danger of it!"

But listen to this speech on the house floor...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fRB3UBz1KEQ

All you folks out there who get so scared by this subject better get it through your head that this is no "theory", this is fact! And just because it might not fit within your world of understanding and wasn't written in your "history" books, doesn't change the facts.

The Gulf of Tonkin was a staged event to trick the American people (and others) into getting behind the Vietnam war.
If you're not willing to believe that your "government" would ever do that, you're living in a dream world.

"The people can always be brought to the bidding of it's leaders; that part is easy. All you have to do is tell them they're being attacked, then denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing their country to danger - it works the same in any country" - Hermann Goering at the Nuremberg Trials

Uh... I think we all knew that Ron believes in a high possibility of a small event being blown out of proportion by this administration to start a conflict with Iran. He's used that Tonkin wording in the past a few times.

The dispute was over whether or not he thought the US Government would stage it's own terror attack (which is to imply that they may kill their own people on US soil) as the catalyst for that new Tonkin-like event, which is what politico reported based on the Alex Jones interview, but he probably did not mean to imply. I don't think Ron Paul sees our government staging an attack on ourselves as terribly likely, and neither do I to be honest. It'd be much easier to stage some event in the middle east against our 'allies'.

It wouldn't even have to be staged. A real event - as he said, begun by Israel, could be the catalyst. I think this is VERY possible. The only thing preventing me from being 100% behind this scenario is that our military couldn't handle it and I would hope our president knows that.

You're kidding, right, Sematary? Bush and co. have been itching to get us into a war with Iran for some time. All they've been waiting for is to have enough time to spread enough propaganda to get the American people behind it.

i think its perfectly understandable to use the gulf of tonkin as an example, because people can't try to say hes a conspiracy nut if he uses a real example of what he is talking about.

Tell Alex to stop sending his minions out to prop him up. Seriously, we know that the Gulf of Tonkin happened and it could happen again. You don't have to try and save Alex by posting something that Paul supporters have already known about.

Back Off

Whoa. I don't think you realize that Paul is the leader of the largest and most active RP Meetup group in the country and he has been working his ass off in this campaign! You need to back off. :(

No, I'm not pissed off - I just get emails from all these people who think that this is tin-hat stuff and it's really sad. Especially when Ron Paul continues to be on Alex's show!

That amazes me how people will say how those "wacky 9-11 truthers" are hurting the campaign while the man himself, Dr. Paul, is fond of being on the show of "the GURU of Wacky 9-11 truthers" - Alex Jones.

Isn't that a bit odd?

well alex is a fan and has a large audience, but he also knows what he can and can't say or ask to dr. paul while on the air. i'm pretty sure that if dr. paul felt something alex was saying was hurting the campaign, he wouldn't go on the show. they both might be a bit goofy, but they aren't stupid.

I think Paul is b/w a rock and a hard place. Alex's fans have been a big boost for Paul and so Paul feels obligated to appear on the show, even when that show DOES hurt him in the eyes of the average person. What Alex needs to do is understand that and not have Paul on since it IS counter productive in the grand scheme of things. It's called "guilt by association".

Yeah, I know. The interviews of Ron are usually great. However this time, I do think that Alex led him quite a lot and then created a sensationalist title for his article that was not congruent with what Dr. Paul said in the interview. I was disappointed in Alex, frankly.

Why don't you do Paul some good, and go shout the controlled demolition theories at a Rudy rally?

I think that Dr. Paul believes that the more he, or anyone else, talks about the US using an excuse to go into war with Iran the less likely it will happen. The more people that realize what is actually going on and what could happen the better for all of us. Then if something is staged or what not, there will be plenty of people demanding an answer.

Sean, you don't know who you're talking to. Paul is leading the largest RP group in the country. It is from this group that Operation Spooner sprang and that is only one of the things they have done. Before you start insulting someone, stop and think.

This is Paul...
