Anyone ever had it? I'm having it tomorrow morning. Or repair, they call it. I've thrown millions of baseballs over the years. You figure 2 buckets per kid per practice (daily in the spring, summer and fall with 12 or 13 kids) with about a hundred baseballs in a bucket, it's done a number on me. I can't even raise my arm sometimes without crying like a baby.

Seems to be just an in an out kind of deal.

I think I might have something like this down the line. My shoulder started to itch couple of years ago. Now everytime I go to sleep my arm when lying down starts to hurt.

Good luck , a few yrs ago I went for some physical therapy on my left shoulder blade area . It was like swiss cheese , tears in it that had scarred over but not healed . I did not think it would help , but after a couple months I would say I went 20 percent to 90 percent in motion and probably as much off the pain so I wish I had done it sooner .

Mine doesn't itch but I wake up with my arm hurting just about every night. I think it's because I sleep on my stomach with my arms up. I'm trying to sleep on my back but Mr Animal says I snore - I guess he hates the competition. Getting old sucks.:(

Yes. Yes it does.

Good luck with your surgery NC.

Ah. Yeah, that's what I was looking for. I should have had it done long before, too. But now they're all of in college and the big leagues and my throwing days are in the past. That';s good to know, oyarde. Thanks for chiming in. I hope it does the trick because I was serious, man sometimes it literally makes you want to cry. That's how bad it hurts if you move the wrong way.

Thankee

You'll know when it's time. Trust me. Heh. Don't wait. Get it looked at.

If I stretched my arm straight up or behind my back it made me feel like I was going to throw up it hurt so bad , so yeah , I do not miss that shit .

Yep. Exactly the same for me. It's sharp pain. I mean reaaaaally sharp pain. It's enough to make a grown man wimper like a baby. Sounds like you know exactly what I'm talking about. From what you said, though, it sounds like the surger ywill do the trick.

Anyway. Thanks everybody. I'll check in and report back once it's in the rear view.

I'm always really hesitant on surgery. I just got through a bout of shoulder impingement from chopping too much firewood too fast. That had my shoulders inoperable for a week.

I've been dealing with a frozen left shoulder since December of last year, and am finally getting over it bit by bit. Unfortunately that puts me back in the painful part of things (there's an area in the middle where you have impaired range of motion but it doesn't actually hurt too often). Depending on how, exactly, your motion is impaired you would benefit a great deal from physical therapy like oyarde mentioned. If there is debris and you're comfortable with the opinion, the surgery itself isn't that terrible but be prepared for it not to necessarily fix everything.

These can be of help and are not particularly expensive:

They are also good for setting on the floor and using to pedal with your legs (in case your knees are ever a little sore, too). If you "pedal" slowly with your hands, it puts your shoulder through its proper motions.

There are also a lot of exercises you can do at home with elastics or a handy doorjamb.
