Paul could get a decent number of disaffected Cruz and Sanders supporters. He could get headlines and start steering the debate in a new direction, then steal a few states from Trump while he's at it. Announce that his campaign will not end with the Republican primary and he will go 3rd party as the primary ends. In the general make Johnson his VP.

The Republican Establishment can't really threaten Ron by threatening Rand given that they have lost control over their own Party. They can't really hit Paul over the newsletters anymore given Trump. Paul can actually get attention in ways no third party candidate has. He can run an optimistic campaign the others can't.
