He asked Ron Paul about running for governor of Texas, and Ron Paul said that would be a bad idea because he would probably try and secede from the union and they'd "run him out of town"

Other reasons included that he was so focused on foreign policy and monetary policy, which are federal issues.

I think every state in the union would want to secede from a government which bailouts banks, curbs civil liberties with the PATRIOT Act, goes to war in Iraq, etc.

Obviously, a United States of America will have a better economy through free trade and freedom of travel. But with the yolk of the federal government and its taxes, its inflation, and its wars on their back, of course each state if given the choice would want to be its own country.

You know, politics is based on principle, but campaigns are won through deception and Machiavellian posturing and tactics. Just look at Barack Obama.

I am a very religious person. Also as a libertarian/conservative constitutionalist, I believe in the natural law. But, the conclusion I have is that in a democratic country such as this one, the only way you can win is through being shrewd.

Ron Paul should run for Senate, it would give him so much more of a voice, and we'd all donate to him and he'd get lots of money and be able to do it. Ten million dollars or so is a ton for a Senate campaign. He'd destroy the competition. But he'd have to hide his views on secession, or do the Hillary/Barack equivocation when they asked him!

I was a delegate at the Travis county convention (where Austin TX is) and Mr. Perry was the key note speaker. It was awesome when he got booed onto stage, throughout his speech, and when he left the stage. hahahaha.

Side note I do like what I read about this Larry Kilgore! Texas Independence! Now that's what I'm talking about! W00T!
