Here's a video I took of the event in full with the long description below it:

Ron Paul visited Hillcrest High School to give a speech about the policies of the Obama administration, the Federal Reserve, his thoughts on the unusual outcome of the polls and more.
The audience was estimated to be over 2000 to 2500 people. An excited crowd chanted, cheered, banged their feet, clapped and listened intently at times as Dr. Paul revealed the loss of our freedoms and civil liberties. He also told what policies he wanted to change should he become president.
He also brought along his wife Carol and two grand daughters Lisa and Linda who listened patiently after arriving from St. Charles Missouri earlier in the day.
Opening speakers included Kyle Theobald and Eli Bruton who reside in the area and helped put together the event. Eli is credited as creating the largest Ron Paul sign in America as of November 2011. The video of the sign unveiling can be see here:

Others involved behind the scenes were local Meetup members Bradly Mowell (coordinator) Billy Talty, Greg Tull, Ben Brixey, Keith Hartman, and Nigel Reed.
Campaign manager Jesse Benton showed his face briefly and soon exited minutes before Paul entered the auditorium.
Media was minimal. CNN, KY3 (local TV news station) and other near by outlets showed up. Many photographers mingled inside and outside of the crowd to get shots of both Paul and the crowd.
The Springfield News Leader wrote up a story the same night with an interview with Meetup member Bill Boone. They controversially stated that there were only hundreds of people. A head count by one of the members was between 2000 and 2500 revealing a discrepancy by the mainstream media. Something supporters reveal on the internet often:

Once the event was over it was apparent that the popular gathering filled the entire parking lot. Many cars and trucks had to park along the entrance road leading to the school, causing a minor problem as some were blocking the exits.
You can view another camera mans (Jared) angle of the same event at Hillcrest here:
