As a Floridian I am truly sad that Dr. Paul will not be making a push in Florida. Why is Paul's support so soft here? I'm trying to figure out how the biggest 2nd amendment supporter polls so low in a gun friendly state.

Old folks.

We poll terrible among older voters, thank our friends at Fox and talk radio.

Yup it's the +65 demographic. They probably don't like him because they get all their news from the MSM.

He will have a presence here he said. I already saw the Believe comercial run here in Sarasota. He has been telling the press that he is just being realistic and cannot commit to a big push in Florida without knowing if the money will be there for it or not. In one interview he said, I am not going to be like the government and start spending money I don't have". lol

Our local efforts are worth giving him a respectable showing here. He is already polling 3 times higher then he was this time here last year.

Good move, as Florida is completely hopeless imo. Paul said in an interview that they just don't have the money to campaign in states like that.

Don't worry my Floridian friend... He will do very well in NH and SC and hopefully we will start pushing some moneybombs for him and he will put a bit of effort into Florida. The truth is, Florida lost half of its delegates when they changed their primary date so they really are not as important as they used to be when you consider how much it costs to campaign there. Don't worry, he'll be there this summer at the RNC to accept the nomination :p

Old voters & the Republican party in FL is super pro-war, super pro Israel, super corrupt & it's winner take all.

by the way, not winner takes all yet and even if they do it can change at the convention. nothing is decided yet regardless of whst the media and the haters here say ( they are jealous of the 70s weve had all week)

ignore everyone that tries to discourage u. this board is very pessimistic and negative.

I'd rather get a free 3rd/4th place than a $9 million 3rd place.

Edit: Nevermind, it's winner take all. Completely pointless to spend any money there.

FL participation from the campaigns mouth:

ALSO... Not winner takes all... YET, Of all people, paul supporters should know better than to trust the media

That being said, if you are not 100% sure of first, no need to spend the money JUST IN CASE it does not end up proportional. If we work hard as grassroots members to get a 2nd or 3rd finish with momentum from the other states.. we still get nothing OR we might get more than if it ends up proportional and we don't work hard and get last place

Paul polled 3 to 4% in 2008. The latest poll shows a +4 to 10% over the last 2011 poll. He is catching on in FL!

As always, keep checking back on the FL thread to catch wind of what's going on or to be directed to your state/county leadership. If you are not aware... in FL you can plug any county into facebook to find your group. "County Name" FL for Ron Paul 2012 will get you there. There are larger groups that represent a region if you find your county group lacking.

I doubt it but prove it you. Oh, how I wish... But no disrespect from your other points.

I read it somewhere here in this forum earlier today, maybe it was the other loooooong Florida post. It showwed he polled at 3% in Florida this time last year and is now at 10%.

How much higher it can get considering so many old people here don't have internet, watch only Fox and listen to Rush, I don't know. I met one of them today in front of me at the post office. When she complained about the post office , why they get high benefits but the Vets don't, I started telling here about RP being the only candidate that wants to better help the Vets. She looked at me like I was from another planet. lol The block in her head was so thick on his existance not being able to penetrate into her consciousness. Then she started rambling on about how we need to spend more money on war. lol It was scary.............these people are real.

Believe me I am currently employed at a drug store in the wings of the Navy and my god it is BAD.

Constitutionalist Floridians should have taken the hint when Chuck Baldwin moved to Montana.

it's a very smart move strategically for RP to skip Florida. In virtually every category it is demographically unfriendly, and when you throw in that it's winner-take-all, there's no reason to spend a moment on Florida unless you think you can win. Florida is a Romney state all the way.
