Ron Paul third in straw poll at Maryland state fair

Attendees at the Maryland State Fair in Timonium had an opportunity to vote for their favorite GOP presidential candidate. 900 votes were cast.

Here are the results:

Rick Perry – 25.8%
Mitt Romney – 21.2%
Ron Paul – 16.8%
Michele Bachmann – 12.5%
Sarah Palin – 7.2%
Herman Cain – 5.0%
Other/Write-Ins – 4.4%
Newt Gingrich – 2.3%
Jon Huntsman – 2.2%
Rick Santorum – 1.4%
Buddy Roemer – 0.5%
Gary Johnson – 0.3%
Thaddeus McCotter – 0.3%

That seems like a good pool to poll from and it seems to coincide with everything else. Maryland isn't even on the radar right now as far as Ron Paul and the grassrroots are concerned so considering that, this is excellent news. Most people there have to rely on the giant news conglomerates to hear about him, I would imagine.

This is great. I bet Ron is at 16% nationally. But who can be sure with this kind of polling agencies.
