Newt Gingrich officially suspended his campaign on Wednesday, with two Republican primary wins under his belt and a campaign that is over four million dollars in debt. Gingrich claimed the suspension of his campaign did not mean he would suspend his citizenship. Gingrich expressed sadness that his "truly wild ride" was over during his appearance in Arlington, Virginia Wednesday.

The Ron Paul campaign also released a statement regarding Gingrich suspending his campaign.

"As he exits the race for the Republican nomination, I'd like to acknowledge my former colleague in the House Newt Gingrich for running a spirited campaign. In particular, I want to thank the former Speaker for echoing my calls for monetary policy reform including a full audit of the Federal Reserve, steps that will bring America closer to lasting economic prosperity for middle-class Americans who bear the brunt of the dangerous and unjust inflation tax."

I hope Dr. Paul can capitalize on former Gingrich fans and get at least 20% of the popular vote in the rest of the states voting until June. That would gives us good momentum and help with garnering even more delegates.

wait a second here.... did newt suspend or end his campaign?
Suspend.

And I agree, the campaign needs to explode on Mitt Romney right now in Texas and California, which I hope is why they're asking for the couple hundred k in the upcoming weeks

I don't know if an attack ad will ever come. Paul and Romney are friends, and so far have not attacked eachother. That is not to say they will be "teaming up" or any crap like that. I just think that from here on out it will be "I'm the better choice, here is why" more so than "Look what crap my opponent has done". While attack ads can be effective, at this point I think positive ads can be equally so.

Ron isn't dumb. He must be planning something against Romney..

You mean teaming up like when RP's campaign spent money running attack ads against Santorum in Michigan, helping Romney win that state? Then failing to run a single ad for RP, or against Romney, in Virginia?

Like that teaming up?
