Young Ron Paul supporters to sponsor anti-Obama rally at SCSU

ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- On the day Barack Obama is sworn in as the nation's 44th president, an offshoot of Ron Paul's presidential campaign sponsors a rally in St. Cloud questioning whether Obama offers any real change for America.

The St. Cloud State chapter of Young Americans for Liberty will hold the event from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday in Atwood Memorial Center on campus. The group says its members will distribute fliers, hand out pocket Constitutions and talk to students about Obama's policies.

Young Americans for Liberty is a continuation of Paul's youth campaign.

Nice to see action being taken. Remember how active we were before the primaries? We need to charge that enthusiasm again or risk falling back into a state of apathy. We're lacking the spirit of real change.

I wouldn't distribute pocket Constitutions. Yes I support the Constitution and wish the government obeyed it but unfortunately it's not written in plain easy to understand English and they cost more to make than fliers and slim jims. I would rather educate people about the Constitution and encourage people to download a free copy over the Internet or download it to their Iphone/Ipod.

YAL better be careful not to look like a pure anti-Obama group. In other words, they better be sure to attack the policies, and not the man.

That's a great idea. Most people will be sitting in front of their TV's like zombies however.

+1

I'm really missing that energy... We need to do something...

We held signs in a protest against the bailouts, that was the last thing we did locally. We are working our way into the cogs of the government, doing pretty well in fact but I love the getting in peoples faces too. :)

the gop killed the spirit;)

YAL got a blurb on the local houston TV station. The context was very negative (because of obamamania) though and of course tried to belittle Ron Paul

I would suggest everyone stop bashing obama and volunteer asap locally and help folks out and stop BASHING OBAMA!! Action speaks louder then words;) bashing obama gets you no where....... it only makes republicans look pathetic. People are having hard times. Take the energy and go help someone out that needs help .It might get you further then bashing someone!

look i didn't vote for either of the 2,but if you want to win voters. You must earn it! going around bashing obama only turns people off!! hell just being republican turns most people off, even myself!!

If we do not volunteer then expect the dems to keep winning voters while the gop sits around clueless on why they lost the election.

I am proud to announce the gop lost the election because they lost us as voters by their actions toward us REPUBLICANS. Yet the gop continues to doublespeak. I am sorry,I will say it loud and clear. The national gop leadership are all liars in my eyes and the devils in disguise.
I can say the same for the cogop leadership and probably the nevada gop leadership. I will leave the rest for you folks to decide!!!

I am a new republican but i cannot see thru the corruption. When i hear folks say we can change this party, yet we are electing the same corrupt leaders. I wonder what planet we are on??

sad but true, but i think we are about 8-12 yrs away from taking the party back,if it is even possible? I do not see a light at the end of the gop tunnel only darkness with the leadership we have!

PS even if obama is half as bad as people say, he is 100% better then the bush crap!! obama could try to be a bad president and he would still be better then bush in my eyes. I am keeping it local so to me the gop(lake county) is dead and obama isn't running lake county our county commissioners and town council are;)

KEEP IT LOCAL AND GET INVOLVED LOCALLY AND VOLUNTEER;) that will go further then bashing obama!
