Hello folks. I'm Scott Pigeon, and I'm running for U.S. Congress in PA's 18th district. This area is south of Pittsburgh, stretching in parts of Allegheny, Beaver, Washington, and Westmoreland counties.

Dr. Paul cured my apathy. I've always had an interest in politics, but he showed me that a difference really could be made. My only regret is I couldn't donate enough to get a ride on the blimp!

I'm an Iraq veteran, and I also deployed to Uzbekistan during OEF. I'm a libertarian, because I think it beats both sides at their own strong points. Republicans are not fiscal enough, and Democrats waiver on social issues.

Here is an excerpt from my website:
Scott Pigeon, an Army veteran and libertarian, is offering something new for Pennsylvanians in the 18th District. He is the strongest choice you have in regards to defending your personal liberties and freedoms, and will work to keep government intrusion out of your lives. Scott is also very critical of the government wasting your tax money on bailouts, wars, and other fruitless causes. If you are a person that enjoys freedom and keeping more of your own money, then Scott Pigeon is an easy choice.

More and more, people are growing tired of the two big parties. If you want change for the better, this is your chance. Vote for principle and win.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this.

I hope you are running as Republican or a Democrat... because if your not, you're wasting everyone's time... mostly yours.

Harsh... whichever party you're running with, I wish you the best of luck Scott! Have you gotten in contact with anyone from universities in that area? I'm not sure if there are any chapters of young americans for liberty around there, but it's worth checking. It's a good way of getting volunteers!

Congrats! I wish you the best of luck! Prior to this, I would have suggested maybe trying a run for a State position, but since you already threw in, fight hard!

No better way to gain friendship on a libertarian forum by telling libertarians they are wasting their time. It'll be nearly impossible to win, sure, but wasting time? Far from it!

good luck... but I"m not sure if you'll win many over with this:

By no means am I a gun nut. I don’t know all the lingo, don’t have the heart to go hunting, and don’t find going to the range all that exciting.

even though you are for the 2A, thats not a very good opening... look into a copywriter IMO to help out. Also, I suggest going RINO. ;)

I'm in PA. Private message me and let me know what I can do to help. Can mobilize some volunteers up tioga County way if you need it ;)

This is going to be a tough race - five term Republican incumbent who has won every race with a 20 point margin.

IMHO - better to run as an independent than to affiliate with the LP, or any third party. It's easier to gain traction that way. You can still tap LP networks to get boots on the ground and donations in the door, but don't run under the LP label, it's more a liability than an asset.
