Here is a break down of the most supporting states per capita versus the less supporting states.

In terms of what, campaign donations? It would be nice to see the source as well, if possible.

Ah true, it is based off of the current percentage of Ron Paul supports per state population from the current state of the Ron Paul Support Signage which has over 1100 people who have signed so far. As we get more and more, I'll update the numbers and the map.

I manually ran the current populations of each state against the people that have signed up for http://ronpaulregistry.com/index.php. Then ran a statistical analysis against this data and plotted it with a scaled factor from 00FF00 through FF0000 and applied it to a blank map of the states.

I have this available in Excel and Photoshop and can pretty quickly apply a new set of data.

I'm surprised about Wisconsin and Texas. Go Wisconsin!

Texas is Ron Paul's state and Wisconsin has a strong libertarian streak due to Ed Thompson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_Thompson), Tommy Thompson's brother, and a libertarian who ran for Governor and got 11% of the vote. He was elected mayor of Tomah, Wisconsin in 2000. He decided later to take a break from politics, but the people wouldn't allow it. In 2005, he was elected to City Council, but the odd part is that he wasn't even running! People got together and pushed a write-in campaign. Initially he declined the position, but then he reluctantly accepted it.

How do you apply the color data in photoshop?

Or do you get the scaled color data from excel and then fill bucket each state manually? In that case, how do you scale the colors?
