Pat McGeehan Announces He Is Running for W.Va. U.S. Senate

Believes a Principled Conservative Should Run

CHESTER, W.VA. -- Today at 8:00am on the Tom Roten Morning Show in Huntington, WV, Patrick “Pat” McGeehan announced he is running as a Republican for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Senator Jay Rockefeller.

“I am running for the office of United States Senate because of Washington’s out of control spending. Our nation is drowning in a sea of debt, and it’s our children that will have to pay for this irresponsible spending” stated Pat McGeehan.

Pat McGeehan is a former WV House of Delegate who represented the 1st district. After graduating from the United States Air Force in Colorado Springs, Pat served as an Intelligence officer, including a tour overseas in the Middle East and Afghanistan.

“I think West Virginians deserve a candidate that will truly represent their views. I am a pro-life, pro-gun, pro-coal conservative that believes government today is too overreaching. That is why I am running for U.S. Senate in West Virginia.”

Pat is a native West Virginian and published his first book “Printing Our Way to Poverty” last year.

Sweet!! Guess I'll be flat broke after the 2014 elections after all minus my BTC and PMs. In hindsight, I sure wish I didn't bail on my AFA appointment back in my senior year like the youthful libertarian-idealist retard that I was. Tho, there's every possibility that I would've been court martialed over the 14 years I would of had to spend in the USAF.

Patrick "Pat" McGeehan (b. October 22, 1979) is a former Republican member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, representing District 1 from 2008 to 2010. McGeehan was a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 1 of the West Virginia State Senate.

That's wrong. He ran as a Republican. You can see the official results here:

Quick google search yields some interesting stuff about him:

He wrote an economics book that Ron Paul praised:

A recently published book on U.S. economic policies by former Delegate Pat McGeehan of Chester is selling well and garnering praise from economists and a U.S. presidential candidate.

McGeehan said not everyone agrees with his position in the book Printing Our Way to Poverty - The Consequences of Inflation, but among those who do are Congressman Ron Paul of Texas.

"Every politician I have been forced to deal with is in it for themselves," McGeehan said. "Then there's Ron Paul."

Paul sent McGeehan a letter stating that he was very pleased with the ideas presented in the book: "Thank you Pat for taking the time to pass on your in-depth knowledge of economics and monetary policy. I look forward to hearing more from you soon."

What's the AFA?

My friend doesn't know the politics of Pat Miletich. Seems to have an eye on the US Senate.
