Ron Paul Rejects Convention Chaos

The goal isn't to embarrass Romney. The goal is to beat Romney. If reaching that goal, or even making significant strides in that direction, embarrasses Romney, who's fault is that?

Of course not. RP is setting the framework for his son Rand whether people want to believe it or not. Under Rand he will most likely be chairman of the fed or treasury sec.

I'm rather hoping that Paul delegates will be polite during speeches at the RNC--but still fight for justice in as far as the rules go. If we are shown as being thoughtful and concerned about America's future, maybe this will open up dialogue.

Is that woman studying to be a therapist? a really junior therapist? Or a receptionist to a therapist? She seems about ready to offer to put a band aid on his boo-boo....

I do not wish for chaos either. And I know Dr Paul is very diplomatic and polite and does not want or endorse chaos.

However, if the GOP starts playing dirty at the convention and is denying Paul delegates, I hope our delegates don't just lay down and take it (and knowing Paul supporters, will not). I also hope Dr Paul stands his ground and does not concede to dirty tricks.

If chaos is the result of trying to keep things honest and truthful, so be it. If everything is orderly and honest without any chaos, all the better.

But it would be a major blow to our supporters to come this far to be dishonestly denied, and to just accept it, diplomatically.

Our guys won't cause problems but I 'm sure any problems will be blamed on us. Look at Maine and NV, the first establishment line is 'everything is usually so cordial and these guys created chaos' but really we played by the rules and were winning, and when someone else is winning, their backup plan is to create chaos in hopes they can get it thrown out and the establishment at RNC will 'fix' things more to their liking.

Losing a vote is one thing, being denied a nomination from the floor etc we are entitled to because they jury rig things, would be very different. I don't think Dr. Paul would expect us to be 'diplomatic' in that event.

I don't know if this is some kind of strategy or some sort of inner belief, but it upsets me that lately he NEVER mentions the reason he's still in the race is to win the Presidency, it's always about pushing issues.:(

He ALWAYS says 'I'm still a candidate' but he doesn't want to get into arguments about mathematics for his whole appearance. At least I can understand his not wanting to.
and when she said can Romney beat Obama he pushed back and said "I could beat Obama..."

Well, he first said "I could beat Romney... I mean I could beat Obama." Maybe a little slip up there regarding the upcoming Doug Wead announcement? ;)

My only question to the good Doc would be what happens when they ineviablty play dirty? Should we just sit there and take it, knowing no matter what happens chaos wise we'll get blamed in the end, or what?

I feel like all the work we are doing is building towards something greater down the line but without something to show for the work we're doing now this all seems pointless... it continues to make me feel as they we are not allocating our organization resources properly (like to primary candidates).

I think we deserve to know what we should do when the dirty tricks that happened in Nevada and Maine ends up happening X10 on the National Stage? What do we do instead if we can't cause chaos when our rights are being violated?

And of course she had to get the dig in about endorsing Romney.

causing chaos would never be a goal. Sometimes things DESCEND into chaos when people's rights are violated but media will be everywhere, it won't just be broomstick guy with his cell phone live streaming it. People will see it.

Working the management of the GOP towards our views would be a big deal, even without the nomination, and I absolutely want Ron UNEDITED speaking as a matter of right, whether or not we win this thing. F their patronizing 'negotiation for a prime speaking slot', we'll earn it for him. At least that is a secondary goal for me, after how shabbily they treated him in 2008.

I thought he said "I could beat Romney," just saying the wrong name...?
