Ron Paul on Jay Leno (9/4/12) - The OFFICIAL Thread

In short, Ron Paul seems to be stuck between two walls. He can't bash the RNC. Not just because his son's future is with the RNC. But because he's just not that way.
The other wall is knowing how hard it is for 3rd parties. I think he understands the mountain that is ahead of the Liberty movement. Does it go third party and climb that mountain? Or does it stick with the RNC and climb that mountain.

One of the biggest reasons why we all can't come together and climb one of those mountains together, is because no one knows which one we could actually reach the top of. The RNC has sure put up some steep cliffs. And the LP lack of successes is surely a steep cliff.

But one thing about it, for our country and our futures sake, we better pick one soon. I don't think we have until 2016. I think Ron Paul's predictions of a soviet union type collapse, will come before then.

Wasn't really expecting a 3rd party run, or an endorsement, but I was at least expecting a better discussion of what went on at the convention. Jay's monologue went into greater depth.

How about neither. Both the RNC and minor parties have 'lacked success' from the liberty point of view of getting policy changed. I have suggested a third route many times, of growing the grassroots movement outside of any party structure, major or minor, just leverage the best of both. Draw from the principled, vetted liberty people in the LP/CP, and run them as liberty Republicans or liberty Democrats, mainly in primaries where there are open seats. Win the primary of the party the district leans towards, and coast on that inside track to victory in the election. That replaces the steep cliff with a takeable hill.

I have no problem supporting any liberty candidates, regardless of their party affiliation. The only reason 3rd parties come to play now, is because of the new RNC rules, and the lack of people that allowed in positions to change those rules. I see the RNC infiltrating those states were we had major successes and corrupting them back to their own ways. I see no end as to what the RNC will do, to regain their control and keep it.

Ron Paul didn't announce his endorsement, I think, because even he is lost as to what to do. The rules change really threw a monkey wrench into the deal. And his son being in the mix, I believe, keeps him from speaking his mind. Which is why I also believe, that Ron didn't make a big stink about all the bad things we said about his son.
