It's time to rally the troops!

Wtf?!?!

The bias is so obvious, man. Who the heck is Haley Barbour? There's no way she has more 2012 potential than Paul.

Are you serious? He's the governor of Mississippi. He definitely is taken more seriously than RP. I'm not against a Paul run. But there's no point in us pretending he's a mainstream candidate. If we want him to do better next time, we have our work cut out for us, we might as well accept that.

I feel RP needs to express some interest in running for president in 2012. We need somebody to coalesce around and somebody to represent us in the media and polling in these early days. If, at a later date, RP decides not to run and endorses someone else, so be it. I just feel politically he is making a mistake for the movement come 2012.

Who are you?

Ron Paul raised $35 Million in 2008. NO ONE (well maybe some of you) KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM in November of 2007

That's at least worthy of a polling option, right?

Do we want to set up a chip in and have a polling company do this exact same poll with Ron Paul included?

It looks like it would cost us $1000 bucks for 1000 responses.

Should I start a chip in to repeat this poll that includes Ron Paul?

I really don't think it's worth it. After 2010 then polls concerning 2012 will mean something. But now they aren't worth anything except odd trivialities for political commentators to pontificate about. I do expect that if RP decides he is interested and starts to put the idea out there to let people know he's thinking about it, which is not something he should or would do before 2010, then I would expect to see his name start to get included. But in the mean time, we don't really stand anything to gain by putting money toward that, IMHO.

Why are you asking who I am?

It's really not my place to say who should be on a meaningless poll 3 years before the next presidential election. I'm just saying that Haley Barbour is more likely to appear on one than RP is. Barbour is a governor, RP is only a Congressman. Pundits believe Barbour is running, while they have no reason to believe RP is.

And what's that business about people not knowing who he was in Nov. 2007? When do you think he raised that $35 million? It was mostly in November and December of 2007. He didn't raise it in 2008. But I'm not sure what your point is. Rasmussen isn't trying to give out consolation prizes to the people who didn't win in 2008 by including their name on a meaningless poll. They're trying to gauge current opinions about people that are expected to be running in 2012. The 2008 race is over.

I'm just saying....

Ron Paul had a #1 NY Times Best Seller in 2008
Ron Paul started one of the largest grassroots efforts in recent history.
Ron Paul now is leading the charge against Federal Reserve over money.

He has all the momentum....

Whether or not the pundits believe it.

These polling companies do a lot to manipulate things. We need to figure out how to stop them at their own game.

Ron Paul himself recently said a presidential run would be extremely unlikely in an interview...

I was born and raised in Mississippi. Before Haley Barbour ran for governor I would guarantee you most people here had not one fucking clue who the hell he was. I only new because I followed national politics and saw his stupid ass on TV when he was head of the RNC. He hadn't lived here or been on the news here in decades.

The only way these people get elected is the party machines. Surely more people nationwide know Ron Paul. Barbour's arrogance and exaggerated accent will fly nationally about as well as that New York mayor what's his name.

I like this comment from the above link

"I for one would be honored to vote for Ron Paul. As someone who voted for Obama and has been disappointed in everything he has done I want to believe that Ron Paul would follow up with the things he talks about. I can't imagine a way that I would vote Republican any time soon but Ron Paul on the ticket would cause me to do that.

Ron Paul is a man that understands our problems and seems to be focused on fixing those problems.

If you wish to vote for hope and change Ron Paul is the right person."

I wonder how many more obamabots out there are thinking the same.

Ron will run without a doubt..He probably wont travel around the country on an endless canvassing marathon but he'll be there to hand the Neocons their asses in the televised debates.
